Around 10 or so of the entries will have to be reduced in size to fit in the english 1.02 but I don't see that posing you any problems. I will let you know which of those I mean at a later date.

For now, I need to contact Luksy because ts will not encode the file and I do not know why.  I will get back to you when I need further work :)  8)
 
I also need to know, for naming your characters, what letters of the german alphabet would you want to add to the list?  I may be able to do it.  Which ones would be needed, ideally?

I have written the corresponding hex values ​​behind it.

I'm very very unsure with the keyboard layout beginning at offset 519FE0 (eng) or 590E80 (ger)

Wow! I'm really surprised!
The FF7.exe (eng) works also with the German version, I have to change a few filenames.
The insertion of the German keyboard layout inside the eng exe gives this result

So what you are saying is we can get this to work with all the german characters if we do away with some of the numbers yup?
 
I will test this tomorrow, I have to work soon.
My idea is to get the same 11 characters per line
There must be somewhere a value that limits the line to 10.
If I knew this value where I could set it to 11 and test times

The problem with that is you then have to patch the exe differently for each language, but it is def possible. I think I could find it.
 
The code for column number is at 007191AE memory. 

in exe, set 003185B1 to 0B

The cursor will also need fixing... the code in memory is at 0071898a

Set 00317d90 to 0B in exe, as well.

No it is pointless.  If you can add them like they were before and they work, then it is cool.  You can probably place the german in place of the numbers.  That may work.
 
I made it

To integrate the German table to assign names in the English exe, the following four values are changed

317D90 -> 0B
317FED -> 0B
3185B1 -> 0B
3185DD -> 0B

This adds a column, everything is properly displayed and can be selected
Chocobos can also be named with special characters, the chocobo race they are displayed correctly.

So do I still need touphscript's 0_ff7.exe.txt file for the actual font values or is the above sequence of bytes for that as well?

I can easily add this to the installer if so :)

Please do not use for now my texts with touphscript
I have some problems with touphscript and must first send a message to luksy.
The texts are all unusable.
I thank you for your patience, I will not give up.

Inserting of another column should work after touphscript translated exe properly.

The texts will need some chopping down, I know that already.  Also make sure that 0_ff7.exe.txt is saved in utf8 format.
 
You can translate it in Italian?.
As with the new version outlet of playstation store have adapted the patch I can not play in Italian.
Maybe if I convert it possible? When and where to change the language?
 
i believe an italian version is already done somewhere, which is not related to this project.
 
This project isn't a translation, it converts only the files and exe.  You  need a full translation like that one to play in Italian.

Shouldn't it be possible to use this for converting, let's say an Italian version, into English, mod appropriately, and then apply the Translate Text option in Bootleg to go back to Italian?
 
I am not sure.  I am sure of one thing, you will need the italian original files.  This converter will only convert ff7.exe and rename the other files to work.

How can I customize the window?
How can I manipulate the cursor?
And how can I expand the entry "Verk" to "Verkaufen", although there is no place in the EXE at this point?

That's a problem.  I can fix the box with hex edits, which is fairly simple.

For now, make sure all of the dialogue is correct (including any text you have had to minimise due to space differences) and then send me the 1.02 txt file.

As for the text... well that can't be expanded without more messing about.  We are stuck with using shorthand in places, like that one there.
