FF7music exe wont even play for me....

My issue is basically what I stated in the topic title. I've been following this forum for quite a while now and have fell in love with FF7 all over again with battle mods, the PRP, the spell patch...it's like playing a whole new game. The thing I can't figure out is my music. It will play MIDIS and if I have to I'll just settle with that....but I'd really like it if I could play the remastered soundtrack. I just dont know where I've gone wrong. I configured it according to the parameters but it didn't work. So I uninstalled it, deleted all files associated with it. Tried to reinstall it. Configured it, then tried to play it. This is what I get (Warning: LONG!!):

To the person who was trying to help me, first thanks. Secondly, I followed all the steps as you said, but when I went to configure the FF7music.exe, I keep getting this whenever I try to adjust the dll for input as well as output.

Access violation at address 0047E04E in module 'FF7Music.exe.' Read of address 1004A028.

I'm also having to double post because for some reason I'm not allowed to send PMs. Sorry

and remove the # from this line :

Again, thanks. Alright....it no longer does the "access violation at yada yada" but when I try to work with FF7 Config, I get a message pop up saying basically allis driver is not installed...... yet I know for a fact it is because I have: Phoenix Rejuvenation Project, Updated Barret, Cloud, Tifa, AC Avatars, Millenias Weapons, Blue Limit Break, and modified spells and all of them work. So I'm not sure why I'm getting that message.....

I worked with it a bit today....and at one point I lost ALL background music. Had it not been for a backup file I would have no background music still. I've basically come to the decision that I don't really know what I'm doing, I'm not a techie, and I don't want to damage my copy of FF7. I hate the way the MIDI sounds, but worse than that is playing without music period. Also, I don't know what I can do to make it work. Unles someone who knows what theyre doing could fix it via Team Viewer I think I'll just be sticking with the midi.

I'm not totally sure what version music player it is, but I got it from here:

I use Windows XP, never had to be an Administrator and sadly neither me or my wife knows the password to be Admin.

I first installed FF7 the real version. Next came Aalii. After that, PRP and the World Map. Next were custom battle mods. then ff7 music using ficedula... as I said, I uninstalled it and everything connected to it. i then loaded the spell mod patch and the blue limit patch. after that millenias custom weapon installer. so now..... i came back here and using the link i posted.... reinstalled FF7music. As I said, everything works, the models, the swords, the world map, the field model, the blue limit, everything but the music. exe.

Hello all i'm new to this site and the modding community .

I have some questions about using mp3's on my version of ff7 pc game

but i can't find the ff7music.ini file ? 

i don't think i have 1  -

please !!!!! help me try to work out how to sort the  ficedula music mod thing

The ff7music.ini is usually found in [gamedir]\Ficedula
In rare cases, can not understand why, they are also found in
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII

If you want to create a new profile with only mp3s, this goes without ff7music.ini to manually edit.
Start "FF7Music.exe", click on the tab 'Files' and then on the button 'ADD'.
Enter a name, click OK, and then choose the new, empty profile.
In the window below now are a bunch of names, these are the MIDI name, which can be played by the game.
Double Click on one of them and look for another song from the hard drive.
You do that now with all the songs, then you save the whole and leaves FF7Music (important! The changes will take effect until the next time).
That's it :)
