Well, on Kimera individual vertex coloring is not possible (well, it is in fact, but in a very hackish way). You can however bake some pre-computed lighting using up to 4 light sources. You can also try to keep the original shading (that's usually quiet better than what you can do manually) by using the palletized model. This mode is not very reliable though and tends to produce somewhat unexpected results.

Anyway, I think the idea behind this movement was remove the inconstencies in shading caused by the baked lighting. Personally, I prefer to keep it though.

Sorry if it was explained earlier, but what exactly is the point of taking away the shading in the original models? I understand the recolor, and like the shape, but for recoloring, should you recolor each vertex relatively, rahter than just recoloring the entire object? (i assume individual vertex coloring is possible)
Actually there is NO point of this.
First i just thought this will make models with original concept(Like Original Chibi was). With no lighting, polygons of every P part not so noticeable, because every part have it's own shadow that not changing!
Here what i mean:
94399871.png

On the screens it looks not so noticeable, but ingame it is.

Other and the MAIN reason is,that every battle part(that used for field model) have not one color
2135413.jpg

so every shadow color on model use it's own color. And make the same effect is not so easy.Even with Kimera lighting function you'll get not same effect.

As decision of this problems I'll make old version chars with MY new shape. But only the main party...
I hope Ice_cold will make patch with "Choose" option(maybe there still some people that like how my version looks  :-P)

P.S. Sorry for my English!!! :-D I hope you'll understand what i wanted to say!

Sorry,I don't really understood  :-D Do you like new models without shadows or prefer old version?

I prefer de original shading squallff8. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to disencourage you, it's just a matter of tastes.

Are you going to remake the battle models to match these? Because right now Cloud looks too different from his battle model, which would result in a weird field--->battle transition.

Hi everyone,

Lately, I've been working on a little program that gonna detect all files that every model need in separate folders and discard every other files.  This gonna clean up the project and help organize the models when working on them.  Later there will be a option to take every files in every folders back together(still by discarting every unused file).  I also added a little error detector in case some HRC or RSD files have been corrupted with everyone that are working on them.  So far I found an error with Aeris when she has the flowers... don't know if it has been fixed though since I don't think I made my tests on the lastest files:-P. So well.. if anyone had any problem with this part of the game it's gonna be fixed on the next version....(if not already)

While making my tests it came to my attention that the original char.lgp has 385 HRC files where the PRP project has 422.  Since it's the game itself that calls the HRC files it makes no sense that our project has more HRC than the original one.  Anyone knows why ?(of course I'm asking to the member of the project since most user won't know what I'm talking about :-P).  If no one knows why, I gonna add an option to clear every HRC that aren't on the original LGP.

Also Borde contact me when you have the time I found a bug with kimera that I can help you with while I was debuging my program.

Storm what are the extra 37 hrc files? I haven't found them and want to see what they are if anything.

I asked Ice cold about it and it seems that there are 3 lgp files in there.  I'm not sure why but I'll add a function to my program to extract them out since there are not needed for the char.lgp.  I'll try to sort them into different folders.  Thing is: they share the same HRC structure... so I guess I'll have to make a database from each LGP files to know where the HRCs belong.

Nice to see you around stormmedia. And good job.
Let's talk about this bug you found by messenger.

what file is the savepoint?
I, too, would like to know this. Does anyone know?
Best way to find out is extract the char.lgp and look at the files with bitturn. Or it may be in the file reconstruction project
Well, what do you know; the File Reconstruction Project does tell you. Thank you very much.

This may have been asked already, but Upon my reading of MOST of the thread I haven't seen it. Does this work with APZ Cloud model, as well as with other character mods? I am new to the forum, but have been following the stuff on Qhimm rather closely.

Also to Fox, Great work on the PRP., I have been using it since day one, great great job

I'm using this with APZ Cloud and Timu's Barret model and it's fine.
