I was bored yesterday, so I decided to play FF7 again. I downloaded it from Steam, then installed the Reunion. The jaggies were bothering me in maps(battle and in towns). I wanted to use GeDoSaTo to downsample from 1080p to 4k, but I couldn't find anything on the web about it. With a little research and a lot of experimentation, I finally got it working. Adding the line: forceAnisoLevel 16 causes graphical glitches, so you have to set AF manually in nVidia control panel. More about that below:
Code: [Select]

Copy and paste with notepad++ to add these lines or download the .zipGeDoSaTo/config/whitelist_user.txt:# GeDoSaTo User Whitelist# One application name per line (application name = file name of the .exe without the .exe)# Wildcards supported (* = any sequence of characters, ? = any single character)# Unlike the global whitelist, this file will not be overwritten by updates# Format:# Exe File Name (or pattern) || Readable Name (optional)ffxiiiimg || Final Fantasy XIIIff7_en || Final Fantasy VIIff7_Launcher || Final Fantasy VIIGeDoSaTo/config/ff7_Launcher/GeDoSaTo_user.ini:# Lines starting with "#" are ignored by GeDoSaTo and used to provide documentation# This is DeathAngel74's launcher profile file for Final Fantasy VII## Render ResolutionsclearRenderResolutionsrenderResolution 3840x2160@60overrideWidth 1920overrideHeight 1080# End of fileGeDoSaTo/config/ff7_en/GeDoSaTo_user.ini:# Lines starting with "#" are ignored by GeDoSaTo and used to provide documentation# This is DeathAngel74's game profile file for Final Fantasy VII## Rendering ResolutionclearRenderResolutionsrenderResolution 3840x2160@60forceAlwaysDownsamplingRes truepresentWidth 1920presentHeight 1080presentHz 60overrideWidth 1920overrideHeight 1080forcePresentRes trueforceBorderlessFullscreen true## Steam OverlaypreventSteamOverlay true## Framerate LimiterfpsLimit 62.0fpsPredictiveLimitRatio 0.7fpsLimitBusy true## ScalingscalingType bicubic## Anti-AliasingenableCoverageSampling trueaaType fxaaaaQuality 3ssaoType HBAOssaoScale 2ssaoBlurType gaussianssaoStrength 3## DOFenableDoF truedofType basicdofBaseRadius 1.05## BloomenableBloom true## Post ProcessingenablePostProcessing truepostProcessingType asmodean## VsyncpresentInterval -1## Required settings, don't changeforceRenderRes trueinjectPSHash 1329c9bfmaxScreenshotParallelism -1# end file

Copy and paste to your existing GeDoSaTo folder.

I had to restart the PC after loading GeDoSaTo, for the settings to take effect in the launcher. After rebooting, open up nVidia control panel and set max performance, triple buffering+vsync on, AF to 16 and FXAA on. Load GeDoSaTo, open ff7_launcher in Steam, set res. to 3840x2160 in video settings tab(uncheck "keep aspect ratio"), click ok, and start the game. Profit! Enjoy the game in 4k res. Trust me, it looks a lot better than the original.

Credit for the inspiration of this mod belongs to Mcindus. Thanks for the GeDoSaTo mod for FF8PC-Steam.

This thread can be deleted. I did not know I wasn't supposed to post here.

That's not the point. You can of course post here. It is simply easier for the steam user to find this in the guide section on steam instead to find this here by a lucky accident.
