Sorry to dig up this old topic but I'm not necessarily a big fan of version 4.1 (don't hit me Mcindus! :'( ), I prefer the old version which is much simpler and more succinct.

Unfortunately, this version is nowhere to be found and... I've managed, with someone's help, to track down the old versions (huge THANKS to Elysion) !

SeedReborn v3.2 (English)

SeedReborn v3.5 (English)

SeedReborn v3.5 (French version)

Examples with the French version :

Hello, I'm trying to translate the game into Turkish, but I can't start because some characters are not available. Can someone write in detail how to add the Turkish letters ı, İ, ş, Ş, ğ, Ğ to the font file and which tools to use?
I changed some letters to Turkish letters in the Font manager section of the Deling programme. Then as sysfnt.tdw I exported it, but when I import it again, Turkish characters do not appear, I do not understand what to do. Do I need to edit the .tdw file with another programme?

Sooo.... there is literally NO way to EVER get this working with FFNx installed, I guess. It can ONLY work with Tonberry, Tonberry is incompatible with FFNx, and FFNx is the only way to ever get any audio mods working, and Toberry is the only way to ever get this and other texture mods working.

...yaayyyy modding FF8 sure is intuitive and awesome. :|

Not at all a nightmarish, unnecessarily ridiculous headache that has been plaguing me grandly for the last 11 hours straight, trying to find some possible way to get texture and audio mods working at the same time, just to run right up into an impass roadblock wall of impossibility regarding the idea of how to get two mods working on one game at one time, which apparently has no actual solution other than "nope, too bad, not possible.".

In over 18 years online of installing mods for countless games online, this is a new one.

audio mod roses and wine   https://thereunion.live/software.html   This mod was available here before, but from what I could understand the person who created it would have been awful to almost everyone and would have been banned, personally I don't know this person but that's what I could read on some messages on the forum.

You will probably never see this, but you can get it working with FNNx

This has been a big help in installing mods that aren't on Junction-VIII or may not ever be on it.

I am in the process of playing all the old FF games, and it's a shame I'm about a year or two early cuz I know Junction-VII will be great all on its own. I mean, it's already pretty great, but it's missing a few key mods that will really "remaster" FF8 in the way modders have Remastered FF7.

Thank you for bringing this up, i was stumped as to why it wouldn't work, since all tutorials i could find online, even somewhat recent ones from a year back would point me in the direction of using Tonberry, and it definitely doesn't work alongside FFNx, so this was a lifesaver

Additionally, while the link to the aforementioned guide is dead, it was luckily archived;

Here's a direct link to the guide's author FFNx-compliant port of Seed Reborn too;

Lastly, i'm not sure if this belongs here, but the youtuber Vestik Studio, author of one of many tutorials showcasing how to install the mod, also made an alternate version of the files involved in the cursor logic, to swap the gunblade back for the pointing-finger, may be of interest to somebody else;

Actually it seems this is no longer part of the 4.1 version of the mod anymore? leaving it here regardless

Hopefully there's future plans to officially bring mods like this to Junction VIII  ;)
