If people would be interested in entering, I don't mind starting a contest.

If I did...

It would be something like this;

'Redesign a Final Fantasy 7 character!'

To enter, please leave a comment saying who you want to redesign!

It can be anyone at all, but it needs to have a field and battle model.

This week's theme is: dark.

You can redesign anything you want, but the redesign needs to have a darker theme to it, and that means a dark colour scheme, or a more 'dark' setting.

This is a redesign of the normal MP and vincent to have a darker feel to it, and would therefore be fitting.

or, it could be something like 'design a new soldier uniform' or anything at all based on the mood.

as sl said, he could probably come up with a prize, like, i dunno... mod for a day or something.

I was more thinking just one contest. Maybe a month timeframe and then a vote after. The prize would not be mod privledges. Its supposed to be a prize not a job. I was thinking perhaps a custom title.

I never said it WOULD be mod for a day, that was just something that came to mind.

Besides, something like redesigning characters, thats something that alot of people would be interested in.

My idea for if it was done properly would be a bi monthly contest thats open for 2 weeks, then judging for a few days, then a week after the contest closed, the winners are announced.

A prize of sorts could be a 'redesign hall of fame' where record the top 3 contestants and the entries they did and timestamp the contest they won.

Thats a pretty good idea to me.

Could it be two contests? one for field models and other for battle models.

1 to 2 months anyway.

we want to have some resting periods between events.

as for 2 contests, i'm going to say no.

field models are ridiculously easy to do if we do the lego models.
CRP style field models rely on the battle models, but brought down to the most basic colour, therefore we also need a battle model.
PRP models ARE the battle models.

so, I'm going to say that each entry needs both a field and battle model.

edit:

this is why I don't really want lego models as field models;

its impossible for them to have any real level of detail, therefore it'll be almost impossible to get a decent ranking, but if it had a battle model to go with it, it has a much better chance of winning.

and this is an example of the limitations a lego field model has, when compared to the CRP field model style.
