But the beta drivers give 400% speedup for Dragon age 2...
BTW... Post someone some screenshots cause I can't do that now (that's why using old screens for the first post)

The World-map Enhancement was released, a rework of the world-map textures.
 
Just downloaded this link and it turned out to be the battle scene enhancement lol :(

That's why I was asking before, I thought it was an update for the battle scenes.

World maps looks great.  :)
 
Just played it, and wow, this is a fantastic alpha.
Much further along than I though, it's really looking good.

Here is my feedback:

- The meteor may need to be slightly higher resolution, it looks a bit blocky.
- The chocobo footprints should be a tiny lil bit more obvious imo.
- The texture tiling is a bit too obvious in some parts of the snowy mountains.
- The waterfall on the river near the sleeping man, is it possible to blend with the river slightly?

These are really the only problems I can find, this is really great work. :)

Also a question, is it possible to texture the dust / water kick-ups from vehicles and chocobos?
Especially wondering about the water kick-up from the airship, it just looks like flying pixels lol.

Something interesting, earlier in the thread we were talking about meteor being purple, and someone posted a link explaining how that made sense seeing it through the atmosphere in the daylight.

Look at this, meteor before we fly over midgar:

After we are over it:

As you approach the environment changes to a greenish color, but it changes meteor from a purple color to what would appear to be the real color of meteor - this was probably done to simulate the fact that midgar's Mako reactors have been polluting the atmosphere for years, thus making the atmospheric gasses and ozone layer weaker, and that actually makes sense.

Wow, that's some nice attention to detail right there.

Thanx for the feedback. I'll correct it, but dunno about the waterfall - it's an annoying texture, will try to experiment with it.

Quick mod question, did you intend this to be used WITH the WMRP? Because when I try it without any of the unfinished textures just become some random transparent lined texture that changes while I play.

Hmmm, there is one image that has a lot of worldmap effects in it. So it's possible to make a HiRes of the effects.

Hmmm, I used a vanilla version of the game, so I don't know how it will react with WMRP=/ Can you post a screen of the bug?

Those weird textures randomly change after battle sometimes

I mean, it's fine because the WMRP seems to just replace the textures that aren't in your mod, but without it the ones you haven't put in just do that.

WMRP uses a modyfied world_us.lgp.  You can copy the vanilla world_us.lgp from the disk and that the bugs will dissapear.
 
Looks like the textures are too high-res for my 720p monitor (they look too busy and grainy, if you know what I mean).

I guess I won't be using this mod.
 
Thanks for this mod felix, it may be unfinished, but It makes me want to go sightseeing on the world map. It's like going out into the FF7 world for the first time again  :-D
