check out the PRP installation tutorial at ff7pc.com

using the executables that come with PRP installer is not recommended, instead replace the lpg files char and world_us with the 00.lpg and 01.lgp PRP creates, as that tutorial instructs.

Hello people!
I wasn't here for a long time.Thought this topic was closed.
Anyway,here some models that i rebuilded.Check them
I'm not working on them, but if some one want to complete these mod.Find them useful
Download:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1OIZD5WX
Thanks for the upload! But I have some questions...

1.) The pack also includes weapon models (e.g. Cloud - Sword (TEMP), Cloud - Soldier Helmet(TEMP), etc.)... Do I still have to put ALL models in char.lgp? (I thought weapons belong to battle.lgp?)

2.) What about the models contained in the subfolders \temp, \temp\0.ARCHIVES, \temp\1. PARTS and \temp\temp? Is there a reason for keeping them in a different folder? Shouldn't I use them?

3.) Nearly every model contains the file "aafe.a" in it's subfolder... If I'd copy all models to char.lgp, I would have to replace it again and again. Is there a difference between those aafe.a files?

4.) You wrote that these models are not finished. What does that mean? Do they just need some finishing touches to look "perfect" or do I have to expect graphical issues if I use them?

Thanks in advance for any answer!

Okaaay... I gave it a try and this is what I got:

http://bayimg.com/pAIgAaadI
http://bayimg.com/PaIgBAaDI

Is it that what you meant by "unfinished"? Or did I do something wrong?

Could someone please have a look at my char.lgp?
Link: Link removed.  Do not distribute original parts of the game.

It contains PRP + every single model of your pack + 7 models by dahfa

I'm looking forward for any help!

Hi man!
1) Cloud - Sword (TEMP), Cloud - Soldier Helmet(TEMP), etc. - Yes you'll need them. These are models from Cloud memories
2) In those folders are models of other modelers. For example there was AC Cloud by Timu Sumisu(on screens that you show us). And some other models...i don't really remember all of them ;D
3)aafe.a is standing animation. It was really useful. But i really recommend you use aafe.a file from original char.lgp 'cause after using Kimera manipulations in-game this animation will be broken and you'll see something like this:
hojo.jpg

So better use original animation files!
4) I meant that mod not completed. There are still 54 models need to be rebuilded.
Btw, I not tested some of those models in-game(0.My Rebuilded models/temp) so i don't know how they looks ingame. Glitches possible  :-(

Why don't you complete your model? I believe you can do it better than every people here so plz keep it alive.

Thanks for your answers, squallff8! I guess I will give it another try without the models of the temp-subfolder and with the original aafe.a.

btw: I agree with lzrock93! Your models look great so far and you managed to get the PRP project so close to completeness... It would be just awesome if you would continue somewhen in the future. PRP is THE alternative for all the people who don't like to use chibi models.

Well, i lost the interest because two reasons, many people don't really liked the way i do those models. I used all original colors without battle shading, like Square do with all chibis. And rebuilding them again with shading is really long work. :-\

Who knows? The summer has just begun and i think I'll have free time for these

actually i really prefer your unshaded models to the old shaded ones :) i would really love to see this completed as it is the only alternative to us who dislikes chibi models :)

altso is it possible to get a file with all the models in ready to get inserted i char?

Could I get a repost of the PRP add-on pack?  Preferably a manual install version if there is one.  The site they were hosted on is dead.  Thank you!

Can someone tell me how could we put the models on the game ? Those that SquallFF8 upload in Megaupload.

Because I tried to put all the files in one folder, and after create an LGP, but it crashes when I go to a room with a savepoint or a chest (it says that chest or savepoint model has dissapear)  ???

I'm writing a tutorial on how to install the best mods for FFVII: Bootleg Edit for the FFVII Remix 2.5.1.
There's a section in it on installing Stickysock's and Dahl's models.
Some of Stickysock's models crash the game or are missing textures.
I've tested most of these models in the game and compiled a list of those that work:
Beach Man 1 - Normal (TEMP)
Beach Man 2 - Normal (TEMP)
      Bouncer - Left (dvbe)
      Bouncer - Right (dufa)
      boy2_sk ... 0.MY REBUILDED MODELS.rar -> .\temp\0.ARCHIVES\boy2_sk\
      bugen 2 ... 0.MY REBUILDED MODELS.rar -> .\temp\0.ARCHIVES\my characters.zip -> .\NEW BUGENHAGEN 2\bugen 2\
      CTCC 3.0 ... 0.MY REBUILDED MODELS.rar -> .\temp\0.ARCHIVES\CTCC 3.0\ [enlarge by 150% with HRC Resizer]
      Detective - Normal (TEMP)
      Don Corneo - Normal (TEMP)
Fat Man 1 - Normal (TEMP)
      Fat woman (TEMP)
      Girl 3 (TEMP)
      Godo(TEMP)
      Grandma - Normal (TEMP)
      Grandma 1 - Normal (TEMP)
      Lonely Man - Normal (TEMP)
      Man - Normal (hlfc)
      Man 15 - Normal (emdf)
      Man 16(TEMP)
      Man 17 - Normal (TEMP)
      Man 2 - Normal (gwif)
      Man 3 (TEMP)
      Man 3 - Normal (gxef)
      Man 5 - Normal (dcic)
      Man 7 - Normal (TEMP)
      Man 8 - Normal (TEMP)
      Man 9 - Normal (TEMP)
      Merchant - Normal (TEMP)
Old Man 2 - Normal (TEMP)
      Rocket Man - Normal (TEMP)
      Suit man(TEMP)
      Tifa - Sword (TEMP)
      Tifa's Father(TEMP)
      Tifa(5 years old) (TEMP)
      Woman - Normal (TEMP eiac)
Woman 1 - Normal (TEMP braf)
      Woman 7 - Normal (TEMP)
      Woman 9 - Normal (TEMP)
      Woman1 - Normal (TEMP ecib)
      Woman2 - Normal (TEMP dafb)
      Wrestler1(TEMP)
      young hojo ... 0.MY REBUILDED MODELS.rar -> .\temp\0.ARCHIVES\my characters.zip -> .\final young hojo\young hojo\

These models look good but are missing textures in the game:
                Mr Coates - Normal (fved)
Old Man 4 - Normal (edjd)
Sumo 1 - Top Half (giha)
Sumo 2 - Top Half (gjab)
                Wrestler 3 (TEMP)

These models look good but crash the game when encountered:
                Man11 - Normal(TEMP)
                Punk 2(TEMP)
                Punk 3(TEMP)
                Punk 4(TEMP)

If anyone knows how to fix the broken models, please point me in the right direction!
The models show up fine in Kimera, but have problems when inserted into the game.

I've been following your Bootleg Tutorial and so far it's gone pretty well.  I do have a couple questions for you though.

1.  If I edit the files from Here into the battle.lgp do I still need the .png files from Here if I'm using 0.07.11b?

2.  "Remove Unwanted patch files (.srb and .txt) from .\patches\Already Patched\
9999LimitBreaking (Now Part of Aali's Driver), (optional, keep for hardcore mod)"     What does this mean exactly?  If I want to be able to break the damage limit should I leave it in Already Patched or what?  Also, what do I do with Lucky Tifa if I want that to be installed?

3.  Do you have a link to the PRP add on pack?  It's the only thing I'm missing from your tutorial and it doesn't seem to exist any other place but the site that's down.

Please help a guy out!

I already fixed all Punks. I'll fix other guys and send you.
Btw i started other models too. Maybe will send them too for test ;)

I want to thank anyone who worked on this project for all their hard work. I just installed and everything looks great.

I followed the instructions here:

(Skip to 3:10 because he talks a lot at the start)

I'm so glad I didn't have to do that painful unlgp process which I used on other mods and I could just copy the lgp files straight to their locations.

Nickblames,

1)   There is quite a bit of overlap between the .lgp and .png versions.
I think the .lgp version contains a few extra textures that aren't in the .png collection.
The 0.07.11b driver uses the .png if it exists, otherwise it looks in the .lgp file.
I put both versions  in the mix rather than try to compare all those files.
Since the .png's take precedence, they're probably the best choice of the two if conserving disk space is an issue.

Maybe someday I'll pare this thing down to the bare necessities.

2)   Those patches are part of YAMP.  Between Aali's 0.07.11b driver and the Menu Overhaul Project, the YAMP patches are not necessary.  To enable 9999 Limit Breaking, use the Menu Overhaul.  If you choose not to install the Menu Overhaul, then use the 'break_9999limit = yes' setting in Aali's opengl driver.  Don't enable both at the same time!
Lucky Tifa might not work with the Menu Overhaul.  I've never used this patch so it's something I still have to investigate.  The Menu Overhaul is very picky about having a vanilla 1.02 version of FF7.EXE.

3) The PRP add on pack is very difficult to locate.  I downloaded it months ago.  I've been unable to find it using this site and google.  There are only a few updated critters in the pack.  There may be a copyright issue preventing qhimm from hosting the file.

squallff8,
Awesome!  Are you using Kimera?  Is there a simple fix for the models?  I hope to incorporate your work in the tutorial!

-PitBrat

Thanks a lot man!

1.  Disc space isn't an issue, I just don't like having unnecessary duplicate files.

2.  Gotcha, thanks.

3.  It really irks me not being able to find the thing, even if it isn't that important.  Normally when things get pulled you can still find them floating around the web but when that main hosting site went down that add-on pack just plain ghosted.

I am probably the ultimate noob when it comes to modding. I just recently went to a performance of Distant Worlds and it got me in the mood to play FF7; however, my PS3 is currently out of service and I went and picked up the PC version. I saw the ff7pc.com website looking to see what I could do. Low and behold...amazingness. The first thing I wanna do is thank each person who worked in the mods that I can find on this site.

The second thing I wanna do is ask for help.  :-\ I have successfully patched both with 1.02 and Aali's ff7_opengl-0.7.10b patch. Now, whenever I run the installer for PRP, it seems to install correctly (the default folder path is in my documents and won't let me change it) and whenever I go into the .../data folder under Final Fantasy 7 in my Program Files (x86) , there is no ffrp folder in there. I went back to check the default folder path and all I can find is the installer. (I'm assuming the installer sets the default install path as the location of the executable file.)

I'm running Windows 7 (64bit) and the game itself is working, but I can't seem to move past the installer step. Help?

EDIT: One last question: Would it be more beneficial for someone like me to simply download the Remix installer and use the patches there? I'm a proud person and believe I can learn just about anything...It's just so tedious reading and researching.

The installer will work fine on 32-bit systems, but since 64-bit systems have a slightly different path name (i.e. instead of "Program Files" we have "Program Files (x86)"). Anyway, to make things short, go to Program Files, there will be a similar folder hierarchy (you know, the Square > FF7 etc..). There you'll the prp folder in which there are 00.lgp and 01.lgp

Rename 00.lgp to char.lgp, and rename 01.lgp to world_us.lgp (instruction taken from Weemus' post)

The original files are located under data > field and data > wm in your correct installation directory. Back up those files first (in case something happens and you have to revert), then copy it over. Run ff7.exe as usual. It worked for me.

Edit: Regarding the Remix, if you have the time, I would recommend installing the mods one by one. For one, some mods included in the Remix is outdated, so if you want to get some of the newer stuff you still have to install those. Secondly, it's easier to find out what goes wrong while modding, because you install everything by hand instead of getting all the files modified by the Remix installer. Third of all, there might be a few bugs in the Remix (as far as I heard). That being said, the Remix is very very convenient and you don't need to get your hands dirty with all the different ways to modify files.
