7th Heaven Controls reset to default numbpad on bootup.

I installed the game, 7th Heaven set up, everything working great, mods are nice. I changed my controls in game, as that's seemingly the only way to do so from 7th Heaven, saved and quit. Booted up the game and my controls were reset but my save file is just fine. I checked the local Steam config file and it's just gibberish. What should I do?

Try this: after changing the controls in-game and quit, when you're back into 7th Heaven, open Settings -> Game Launcher... , then under Options should be a drop-down menu for the controls selection with a save icon: click the save icon and give it a name, then choose the control scheme you just created from the drop-down menu. If you launch the game via 7th Heaven before doing this, 7th Heaven will overwrite your custom control configuration with the one already set in the drop-down menu, thus removing your changes.
