Yep, the same thing goes for me. I am glad to see AngeBleu95 here, because I have a few questions to ask, but not here, as it's off-topic. I got FF8 in French, the NVidia patch is installed and it isn't a crack, I bought it (ok, not me, I got it as a gift) and I did whatever I think it's necessery, I had to reinstall :(

FOUND IT THE THREAD!

Using .7.9b and Team Avalanche's latest release (including GUI 2.07).

Okay a few things:  I'm on a laptop and use ff7input but there seem to be some problems.  I've tried fixing them by going to the ingame config but that yielded no progress.  Anyway whenever I hold shift, up, and left Cloud only runs up rather than diagonal.  It's only this combination though every other one works.  Also many non keyboard buttons (volume up/down etc.) seem to hit cancel and field (pointer finger).  Also my right shift brings up the menu but it also hits cancel and field.  Does anyone have any ideas?

Also I need to turn ff7music's volume down to 35/255 to be able to hear the sound effects.  I was wondering if there is any way to change the sound effects volume?

Also caching seems to make some Team Avalanche imported textures (but not others) come through.  For instance, restore still uses the old one.  This isn't a modpath issue either.  Also it works fine with caching off.  On the topic of spells, I can see the square edge of the bolt 1's "plumes" texture.  I don't think it's the texture's fault since TA makes all textures 1 to 1 replica updates.

Also I ran through the motorbike game recently and an error came up about the vsync (I couldn't catch it though).  I checked the .cfg and it said the framelimiter needs the vsync turned on but there was no option for it anywhere in the file.

Just put all the seffect files in the avalanche folder of modpath. This should fix it. If not turn on show missing textures in ff7config. It should be able to tell you where in the modpath you need to place the seffect files.

Hey guys,
I can't really find what i'm looking for.. Its giving me an error when I start up FF7 even as administrator.

I don't know if its the custom graphics driver or PRP but when I start up I get this error

Problem with this first one is that I just installed the latest driver for my GeForce 6600 GT so its confusing me.

I hope I can get some help on this one i'm really struggling to find the origin of the issue.

Hello, I am running the latest version of the driver for ff8 on a Radeon HD5870, however, after you board the train of the timber owls and are instructed by zone to go and wake up Rinoa, as soon as you walk towards the next screen, the screen just stays black and the game crashes.  Here is the app.log and crash.dmp

Is there a way to fix the white dots in the material menu?

Hi doodz,

First I'd like to say just how incredibly impressive the work that has been done on all the mods created for this game. I never thought there was such a community existing 12+ years later.

Now, I wish to try them. But lo and behold. I am experiencing difficulties with Aali's drivers.

About my comp:
Asus Eee pc 1005HAB netbook
2gigs of RAM
Intel GMA945 video
WinXP Pro

I dusted off my old Platinum Ed. disc and made .iso files of each and mounted them usin' MagicIso to install FFVII.
Upgraded to to V1.02
I place my save files 00 to 09

Now this is where I extract Aali's drivers cut n' paste all the files (Even the FF8 stuff), into my FF7 file.
I go to FF7 configuration, I choose "Custom".
Now I go to my folder and open: ff7_opengl.cfg
I only change the resolution to 800x600. Save changes.

Now, I click to start the game, it crashes right away with the message of "Oops, something very bad happened...etc".

I get these window error popups:

ss1.jpg

ss2.jpg

This is all I get in the app.log:

INFO: FF7/FF8 OpenGL driver version 0.7.9b
INFO: Auto-detected version: FF7 1.02 US English
ERROR: unhandled exception

I don't know how to read nor post my crash.dmp file. I have been reading, searching posts relating to something for about 3 nights now. The game runs fine 'Til I try and use the Aali'S drivers. I have tried 7.8b and 7.3b as well. None of them work.

Phew...

Additionnal:
Should I install FF7 with directshow drivers from the disc?
How do make thumbnails for img files as to not tick anyone off?
How do I read and post my crash.dmp
Am I doomed?

Thank you all for you continued hard work and expertise. I have not played FFVII for almost 10 years and hoping to get a new experience.

Regards,

~Dood

crash.dmp will be in your FF7 install dir, put it in a .zip archive and upload it to megaupload or some other file dump.

Looks like you got some nice broken graphics drivers there, try updating them.

I see. Obviously this must be due to modified gfx drivers I have which improves performance for everything.

I will revert to the official Intel GMA gfx drivers and post my results.

Thank you very much Aali dood.

EDIT:
__________________

Ok, I reverted to official driver on my gfx card. The drivers work great but, when I mess with the resolution, going over 640x480, I get a message: "No useful indirect path found, check app.log, etc".

Also, the sfx seem to be much lower. But I think this is covered elsewhere.

My integrated gfx card supports up to 1.4 openGL. Does this affect NPOT textures? Well, I hope the app.log makes sense.

Thank you very much Aali.

(How do I post this as a "code" box for easier reading?)

Another Edit 15th nov. 2010:
Hi Aali dood!

Thank you for determining the issue I had on my pc regarding the broken drivers. I can now use your drivers, Team Avalanche mods, Remastered OST mod, etc.

Everything works flawlessly within my netbook's limitations.

Your hard work is highly appreciated. I look forward to future updates.

Regards,

~Dood

Additionnal high-five to 'Thug' for the "code" tag. Thanks alot dood.

Nice Driver here. ;) but i have found some bugs in this. more likely the screen transitions. while the
fps display constantly at 32 when the transition is not made. it began to really drop to 19 or something
when i go to next screen.. although this can be solved by entering the menu and exiting out again.
is there a fix for this already or i have to change some configuration..

thanks.. btw. good job with this got it working with Launcher 1.4 and some good add-ons. this is the only bug that i found.

updated. i found that the texture reload resets to 0 when i enter the menu and exit. but when
im entering a new screen it goes up again to some value. and il have to re-enter the menu again to reset it to 0 just to increase fps again/.
its still there the problem is present still here in v0.7.9b

Previous I used it in Win XP 32bits and all model got yellow overlay.
Now I used it in Win 7 64 bits and all textures of my Mod became back in battle?  :-o
An older version worked fine

I just reisntalled FF7 on windows 7, installed the 1.02 patch, and then extracted the openGL driver version 7.9b files as instructed.

After the files were extracted I ran FF7Config.exe and in my list of choices it says "OpenGL driver (BROKEN).  I assume this means something has gone wrong, but I don't know what.

I tried choosing Direct 3D and then installing the team avalanche high res patch but it tells me i dont have the openGL driver installed, or at least not correctly.

I would love any help I could get, thanks.

EDIT:  Redid the 1.02 patch, had the choice of custom and got the msg that it was good to go, still the avalanche hi res stuff says the driver inst installed.
