Hey kula_wende. It has been a while. I sure hope you do remember me.  :-D
As long as you said the word "scratch" then it should be no problem. Right guys?

I'd suggest finishing the model and the UV map before texturing, but it looks like you've got a good clean layer of texture started.

You can use only one "panel" and reverse/invert it to get the same effect. Frees up some texture

as it is, each of his panels are unique :P but yes that would be an efficient technique for that portion.

thanks for some tips, now im working the whole model, and also thanks for welcome me again

uh... just a suggestion, why not make the old school look but with more details? just like what apz did...

actually when i making that model i have no reference used, maybe, its good suggest man but for the sword i'm making it much more realistic details  :-D

Just a wee tip,

If your going to post rendered pictures of your model progress,

Do so in a perspective or isometric view. oblique views make models look like cartoons.

for those asking my mods sory i cannot send it to anyone and i have already delete my download links in my acount, just keep your eyes in my custom models now, Heres my progress

looking good, your off to a really great start. I love the shape your at at this point, and the textures are looking good too. I assume in the final version it'll be a bit more dirty, and not quite as much bling factor?

If I had to choose a sword to be stabbed to death with, it would look pretty similar to that.
Great Jorb  :-)

i use it in game and it works but some of the linings are become dot lines why is it?  :?

but it looks fine in 3ds max render, here

Wow thats fantastic! can't help with the dotted lines though i think all higher res models have artifacts like that.

you should redo all clouds original swords, not only do they need them, But you're a good artist

my geforce 8800 gt has similiar problems with some games, so the problem can be in video card, or drivers, because when i try same games with 6600 gt everything works fine but much slower, and you made really good model:)
