There are quite a few tracks from games or even full OST's beyond Final Fantasy that I've been listening to recently, because they're made of win.

I thought it would be fun to make a thread with some music thrown around (remixes also, if you so wish). The aim is not to focus on Final Fantasy too much, because we've had tons of those threads before and let's face it... we all know and love them!

If you feel the need to share a FF song though, go ahead.

I have a few:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (What a soundtrack!!!)

Detroit
Icarus
And my favourite: LIMB Clinic

I urge you, if you haven't already, to listen to this soundtrack.

Sonic Generations (Because Sonic music is awesome)

End Medley - Almost makes me tear up from nostalgia.
Big Arms - Might be my favourite. Awesome.
Speed Highway Classic - Classic Sonic technorock fun.

Rayman Origins

Land of the Livid Dead - Yes, it's Ennio Morricone.
Sea of Serendipity
I've forgotten what this ones called.

Share suggestions!

Ape Escape soundtrack is really good, it's got a breakbeat style all the way through

Golden Sun had a pretty awesome OST, unfortunately somewhat gimped by the GBA's sound quality.

Stewart Copeland's Spyro the Dragon's soundtrack will always be one of my favourites of the PlayStation era.

Bit more obscure, Jumping Flash! 2 had a couple of really great tracks, RIP Takeo Miratsu.

Not sure how many people ever played the original, but I've always loved the OST from Dynasty Warriors :3

Since you posted Rayman Origins, I feel it is my duty to post this from the original.

There's so much more to post, but I'm not going to flood the thread, haha.

The original Rayman had an excellent soundtrack.

These are probably obvious, but my favourites are Chrono Cross, FFT and SotC. Also the PS version of Doom had an amazingly understated ambient OST, which I personally much prefer over the cheesy faux-metal original (blasphemy!!  ;D).

I agree about the original rayman soundtrack. I loved that game! Got it for free on PSN a couple of months ago.

Feel free to flood the thread Hotdog! The more choice the better.

I feel this one is fairly obvious for its awesome, creepy ambient quality - Forest Temple

Also, thanks to the recommendation of people here I recently played through all the Assassin's Creed games. This song almost brings me to tears now when I hear it: Ezio's Family.

i would like to play The Last Remnant, for xbox 360 and PC,(but my computer is a single core and 1 gb ram)this game have some good musics.(Maybe because the game is from square ^.^)

Struggle Eternal

Sword Sparks

- The Gates of Hell

I agree the last remnant has a good score. The game itself is a bit mediocre. For anyone who wants to try it I suggest getting the PC version as the graphical issues are much less frequent. Then again, you would need a fairly strong computer.

I can't say I'm up to date with soundtracks from games. I remember liking some tracks from bastion...
I'm more old school, like Faxanadu or Tmnt 2 for the nes.
He, he and Bucky o'hare too lol.

Going slightly off-topic in my own topic.... but gjoerulv, you reminded me of something.

Does anyone remember a SNES game that was like a puzzle game? The fuzzy details I remember are:

  • It was a puzzle game with levels.
  • The main character may have been rabbit-like.
  • The puzzles involved knocking down walls that looked like dominoes
  • The main objective was to get to a different point in the "room"
  • I don't think it was that popular.

And that's all I remember.

Also, some retro awesomeness. (This video is not mine btw.)

Any of the Shadow of the Colossus battle musics. Especially the "Demise of the Ritual" and "Revived Power".

IMO I don't like the sonic gen music but hey thats coming froma classic gamer.

Favourite game music

Sonic adventure 2 battle:
 live and learn
city escape

FF7

Most recently I've listen to Leonardo's Inventions 1 + 2 from Assassin's Creed 2. I wish they would have brought more music like that into Revalations. And Duke Nukem 3D's music was good, his theme song still makes me wanna rock out like a ten year old.

I'm adoring the music in Assassin's Creed at the moment. Although I've only recently discovered it, I literally played all 4 one after the other in the space of last week.

Revelations was a bit of a letdown after the epicness of 2 and Brotherhood.

I kinda felt the same way. Revalations did not take as long as either 2 or Brotherhod, and I was a little let down about the tailor options and that nothing from those two games was transferrable. Oh well, I still liked it.

Let's not forget the Myst series:

Exile's theme (takes about 1:30 to really pick up):

Kadish's Gallery (Uru):
Path of the Shell also has a good one similar to this, but I can't find it on YouTube.

PKMN B/W Team Plasma battle music.

C&C Red Alert series
Hellmarch 2
Hellmarch 3

Remixes and updates are awesome too.

Remember that shitty Cheetamen game from Action 52 and it's canned sequel?
I actually use an edited version of that in FF7Music for boss battles.

Doom E1M1 No question.

Super Street Fighter 4 Cody theme
And it's Remix in Marvel vs Capcom 3 for Haggar
