blackscreen error ps1 disc

Please help. I'm not sure what is going on with my disc. It gets to the point that it should be at the main menu, but stays blackscreen and every 20 seconds makes a sound like if you pressed a button that wont work in the game. I tried restarting it but it does the same thing. I dont know if it is a system thing because I have a 1st gen ps2.

You could try other psx games and see if they are related. You could also try to double check with an emulator.

i know my system wont play a lot of games (including the xenosaga series for ps2) also our computer is too slow to use for any media, but thanks anyway
