Ermm .. i installed the game and played normally . And i manage to save multiples files during the gameplay , however , i cant locate those save01 or watsoever files! Could some kind souls out there help me ? :(

save games are located in the ff7 install folder in a sub folder called save (C:\program files\Squaresoft,Inc\final fantasy VII\save is default)

i cant find it :/ . its not dere . the save files remains . but i do not know where isit located !

In my time fixing problems people have had through PMs on YouTube, I have learnt that some "Ultima Editions" of FF7 don't make a save folder in the usual location. I hope that isn't the problem here.

Did you install FF7 somewhere other than the usual location?

BTW, if you're using a 64-bit OS, "C:\program files (x86)\Squaresoft,Inc\final fantasy VII\save" will be the default location for saves.

Nope . It isnt the ultima edition. i wonder if the save files is saved thru the registry ? Erm im a 32bit vista OS.

It should be located here:

That default location on a 32 bit system being here:
C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII

Are you running Vista? You might have to check your virtual store if you're not running in admin mode.

Actually, I've had the same problem. It's sort of a hidden file. I found out when I was using the LGP tools that my save files were there (I was trying to open up the char.lgp) the folder just had a lock symbol on it. I copied and pasted it elsewhere, and then copies it back into the FFVII folder, and I could see it. I would give you a screenshot, but I don't know how. XP

Open LGP tools (if you have it) and select open. You will have a "Windows Explorer" window open, go into your Final Fantasy VII file and you should see the save folder there, with a lock on it.

I don't know why, but Vista and Windows 7 seem to like making files like these. Hope it helps.
