Change of user names

As some of you may have noticed, all members now have the power to change their user names. I do this to relieve some of the workload for me and SaiNt, but use it with moderation. Do NOT change your user name unless it's absolutely necessary, since people will find it hard to keep track of your identity. If I find that people use this service recklessly, I will disable it again.
 
I think our users are clever enough not to missuse this service

i suppose this is good a place as any:

is there a definable limit on a username lenght? and if so can it be disable temporarily?
 
Since you ask, yes there is a limit. And no, I don't find anything useful in disabling it.
 
i guess i'll try it out on my own board. but i believe, as you can so this with forum names, you can use html in the name. i was just curious if this board was capable. i wrote some code for it but it was far too long to use as a name. anyway just an idea. i'll report my sucess back when i try it out.
 
HTML in user names is NOT allowed. If you're dying to know what I'll do if you do, please feel free to try it out though.   :evil:
 
afraid of seom malisicious scripting? whatever, i was just curious and that pretty straight forward.

I like the first one, but I think it's too tall. My next fav is prob the third one.

However, I think the best one would be just taking the   :evil:  and pasting the   :D 's smile on it.

Since the problem is solved now, I've deleted the code to decrease the width of this topic... (was this a moderative action? :D )

i could cut off the tail....... or someone else could do it. but i'll do it when i get home. and i'll play with   :D 's smile and stick it on  :evil:
 
Okay, changing usernames is NOT possible b'cause of that damn error shown above. I tried to change my username to 'Alhexx2', and I got the same error.... :x
