Chinese patch incompatible with Anxious Heart and OpenGl driver? (FFVII)

Hey guys, it's been a while.

I've got mod problems. I'm learning Chinese and I thought a great way to do it would be to play one of my all time favorites with a translation patch but it seems to cause problems. The OpenGL driver quits working and Anxious Heart won't load. Does anyone know a fix or workaround? Does the Chinese patch change some dependencies?
 
The sizable character set probably requires a significantly modified exe from any versions that use the roman alphabet. I'm not really surprised at all.
 
That's what I'm suspecting.

When I created the PAL damage break patch, I noticed that the specific data I was modifying was the same in both NTSC and PAL, the only real difference was the offset location of the data. Which resulted in Arm's patch not working with PAL versions. Sooo if that's the same general thing that's going on here, perhaps it can be fixed easily? I'd have to compare the exe's to verify this as the case.
