Constant Crashes... Game engine can't handle Graphics...

What I am noticing if you have the high-res patch on and the updated character models, the game slows down quite a bit.  It can't really handle the enhanced graphics (the game engine can't) that is.

Eventually I keep getting random freezes within the game, and have to End Process from the Task Manager and restore the game. 

I am currently, using the FF7 music, high res, and upgraded models.

I have a feeling it's got to be one or the other with this game, since the engine is so old it can't really handle it.  Anyway to circumvent the consistent random crashes within the game, or freezes?

If the game engine is old and your video card doesnt support hires, just unistall it. Or your game will crash continuosly

Strange I've never had any such problems, and I run it on a laptop with a near non existant graphics card.  :|
