Crashes in battle...? / and other problems

I have been having some trouble with playing ff7, after i installed a few patches...

PROBLEMS:
#1) When in battle, sometimes the game locks up, and crashes.
#2) Entering the World Map takes forever
#3) ... i guess it's only two problems...

PATCHES INSTALLED:
NPC Recon (latest ver)
High-res cloud (battle)
Advent Avatars
9999HP/999MP Limit Breaker
Official 1.02 patch
Transparent (Translucent) Message Boxes
LessDebug Patch
FFMusic
High Res 1280x1024 Patch (Recently removed - thought to be cause of problem to Problem #2)
 
To fix the crashes while entering battles use BattleSwirlFix by dziugo.

If the time is the only problem while loading world map and there are no other issues after that I think that would mean your hardware is the key. If you say that removing high-res patch seems to help that's even more likely that you have a performance problem.
 
The problem with battles is not the entering, it's the during...

Last time it crashed, I performed 3 Limit Breaks, one straight after another, and on the third (Cloud's Braver) the game stopped, and the error box came up.

and as for the World Map problem. it's never happened before on the same gfx card...  :?... It takes... from 50 secs ~ 3 mins to enter the world map
 
Well provide us with your system specifications... those issues don't belong to the familiar ones.
 
Processor: Athlon XP 2200+ (Running at 1800MHz)
Memory: 786Mb DDR 333MHz Memory
GFX: GeForce FX 5200
OS: Windows XP

EDIT: Hmm, it seems that removing the resolution patch did it.. i downloaded a save file, and upon entering the world map, it was running smoothly. this must sound strange, huh...  :?

Are those problems present on clean install with no patches whatsoever?
If yes that's a nasty problem.
If no try to track which patch causes the conflict.
 
i guess i'll leave the official 1.02 patch on... without it, the graphics are screwed up  :-P

yep, everything works fine, without the patches.
it just seems to be that high-res patch  :|
although, i'm not sure now.. I've recently had 512Mb of memory installed since the problem occurred.

EDIT: That extra memory seems to work.. As for the battles crashing, it's still occurring. Would it be because I've been playing it for over 8 hours straight?

I've noticed that with enabled Antialiasing the random crashes are much more likely... About 5 times more often!
