Is there a chance of release FF IX on PC? I've heard something about the current plans, but i don't know exactly! Can someone enlighten me?

Using an angry smiley as a topic icon is not the best way to get people in a helpful mood. Just a friendly tip.

Square scrapped plans for FFIXpc a long time ago, if there even were any. I fail to see what they would gain by making a port now. Certainly not money.

I haven't heard or read anything 'bout this - but I don't really believe that they'll release it for PC :(

NO. No chance.  With the release of FFX, I don't see why they would bother in doing that.  But if you want to play FFIX, there is an easy solution.
Buy or rent FFIX (of course for playstation), and install epsxe.  If you have a fast computer, then it should run well.  Although, I don't know if they fixed the problem they had with FFIX.  I played Chrono Cross on my brother's sucky computer and it ran well.

or you could buy Bleem! as it is leagle to own.cost like 15 bucks. then al you have to do it go rent your favorite psx games copy the file to your hd and burn a cd. and as the cpu doesn't que the cd for the "internation authentication" code it'll work and yuo get the game for like 5 bucks. :)

ive had some success with ePSXe and FF9, but hey... i hve a playstation so it doesnt matter.

14.99 at your local bestbuy!

FF9 also works very well in Virtual Game Station the graphics are not as good though... but its very smooth... you need a patch to make it run though...

darkness: oh i hadn't heard.... well there are other emu's around. beleem was a nice one though. and all the site is now is sonic crying over a grave.

Last I heard, epsxe still has that problem with FF9. I actually reported a problem for it, but I doubt it's fixed. Last time I checked, it was still there...

I need to get Chrono Cross... Our local rental store had to take it off the shelf cause someone took the first disc about a year ago or so...

Well, as you know, I'm about to upgrade my system, but the main reason behind it is so I can play FF9 on ePSXe.

Hey, what is this problem that FF9 has with ePSXe?  I wonder if it has anything to do with the terrible performance I'm getting now....

And finally, about using Bleem!:
Bleem! WILL NOT WORK with FF9.  The movie data is stored in a format that Bleem! just won't be able to handle.  Interestingly, even the old version 1.4 will run the non-movie parts of the game just fine, but as soon as a movie is played, it will just give you either garbage or a blank screen.  Now, also, with version 1.4, the music plays amazingly fast on my slow system, compared to running ePSXe.  Also, Bleem! won't recognize the savegame data, usually reporting it as corrupted data.

VGS works very well with most playstation games
its a discontinued emulator now though but the latest version works very well compatibility wise...
this is because there is no 3d enhancing or anything

i'll look for a site that has this emulator on it

Why can't we ever get nice things?

epsxe has problems with FF9?..I completed it though..
DO u mean the battle scene transitions or ???

afaik sony bought bleem! and stopped production. But there are other emus, no ?

there are other emu's out there but bleem! cam with it's own BIOS already configured. it was reallyt a nice piece of software. i'll look for a psx emu when i get home. damn school server blocks out alot of sites   .

Hey, guys! Did i say something about emu? No, it was interesting for me to know about PC version. I've finished now FF IX for the 3 time using epsxe 1.4 . And i can say that i have no problems using this marvellous emulator! Relax and enjoy the game! Show must go on!

Hmm... Then I guess I got screwed over when I played. I came into a fatal CD-Reading error at one point in the 2nd Disc, using epsxe. Last time I checked, I still got the error, however, I DID beat FF9 using my friend's Playstation. (I would have used mine, but the ball-bearings came out, so it can't hold CDs anymore, then I found out it was a first gen Playstation. Hey! I got it free from a friend who wanted to get rid of it... How cool is that?)
