Wow...

I was going for a perfect game and I was on the boat headed to the new continent. Well, on this boat there are enemies called Marines in which you can steal Shinra Betas from them. Shinra Betas are an armor piece that is unobtainable after disc 1 or something. My goal was to steal 99 of them. I steal about 40 of them and I run into a battle, pause it, alt tab out, and do something on the computer. I then turn off my monitor and go eat dinner. I come back and the game crashed.

2 hours of gameplay lost. I didn't even save it at all.  :'(

That sure is a reason to engage in sexual intercourse with life man....I feel you.

Good luck getting 99 Earth Mallets.
Although I suppose for those you can just get 2 and clone 'em.

What are they? Are they hard to get?

Wow I just noticed something. I talk about Final Fantasy VII a lot saying it's a great game for its time and it's really good and stuff. But, I just realized I never got to the second disc of the game. The farthest I've ever gotten in this game was to the Materia Keeper boss. Pretty sad lol.

Well, at least you've been playing some of the best parts of it.

(IMO, FF7 is at its best at the early stages of the game.)

The only parts I know is from the beginning to the Materia Keeper, Junon canon firing, Ultima Weapon, Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, Jenova Synthesis, and the final battles.

Bad news man.. But why would you want those shinra betas?? Are they needed for something?? Never always had the need to use them.. Sorry just wondering. :-\

I'm trying to obtain a perfect game. Shinra Betas are a limited item and are unobtainable later in the game. Therefore, in order to achieve a perfect game, I must steal 99 of them now or else I won't ever get to again.

So if you mean a perfect game you really mean "perfect". Damn just that means hell if I'm in you're position.

And this isn't even the hard part.

The definition of a true perfect game (in my eyes) is as follows:

Being Able to Beat the Game
Have Yuffie & Vincent
All Characters Lv. 99
Have all Ultimate Weapons and Lv. 4 Limit Breaks
Have a Gold Chocobo
Have at least 1 of each Materia Mastered, including Master Materia
Have 4 Enemy Skill Materia's with ALL Skills
All Side Quests Done
Being Able to Beat Ruby and Emerald Weapons
Max Stats for All Characters
Gotten All Treasures
Have All Key Items Possible
Cleared the Gold Saucer
Have Max GP (10000)
Have Max Number of Every Item
Have 0 Escapes (f*** I ran from the Midgar Zolom once...)
Have a "Perfect" Chocobo
Max out All Characters' Natural HP/MP
Max out Experience and Gil
Max out Vincent's kills for Death Penalty (65535)

The list goes from least difficult to most difficult.

Well so far what I consider the easiest part is the beat the game part. I've been thinking, what exactly is a perfect chocobo for you?? max stats?? and for me finishing the game fast like 8 hrs or so. I've tried finishing the game fast but I forgot my time but I missed on many sidequests and weapons only finished Ultima weapon then headed to the North Crater. Good Luck with your perfect game. If you feel like starting with those shinra betas again.. :-\

If you want a perfectly perfect game, why don't you master a bunch of KotR materia so that Barret can get overflow damage with his Missing Score?

lol I just threw on another 18 hours of gameplay for you, didn't I?

Why'd you suggest that!! He'll probably not leave his computer again.. :o

Because I'm evil

I've never understood the point of perfect games myself.  I feel that it kind of ruins the fun of the game.  You do get a kind of satisfaction while you're doing it, but once you're done, it's like "Now what?"...

EDIT: No disrespect intended.  Sorry if I'm being blunt.

O_O

Well I think if someone really loves the game or if there is a hidden secret if you have a perfect game like in kingdom hearts 2 standard mode. I think you have to complete the journal and the minigames but I got bored and just started a new game with professional mode. I sure wish SquareSoft showed a secret movie if you have defeated the Weapons in FF7 like maybe the other weapon in Dirge of Cerberus. Would have been fun to watch back when I first had the game. :-\

I highly doubt they were planning to expand FFVII as they have back then.

They were also in a huge rush to release the game, so they wouldn't have bothered putting something like that in.

Now if you REALLY want a perfect game, you'd need to boost every character's stats to 255.

Good luck on morphing all those sources in the gelnika!

That's on the list.
