FF7 1280x800 patch?!?!?

hi guys i'm a new user..just wondering if there's any way to make the high res patch work on the usual laptop resolution of 1280x800. I tired to play it in window mode but it's still not working...i mean it doesn't even start...just a black screen for a while and then back to my desktop....

I know The Saint scaled it by a factor of 2 but is it actually that hard to scale it by a factor of 1.6?!?!? it would get to 1024x768 and it would be fine for almost every laptop in the world!

Yeah, I have this problem too^^

My Laptop Screen has just a maximum resolution of 1280*800, too...

1024*768 could be more than nice, really :D

This doesn't seem conceivably hard, except that most of the fields' backgrounds (the still backdrops) assume a 4:3 display ratio rather than the 16:10 that most laptops run at. Some laptop video cards have the ability to shrink the screen back to a 4:3 ratio even when given a widescreen picture. That'll cause a letterbox effect of black blocks to either side of the screen, but it'll look better.
 
Yeah I have a 1280x800 laptop as well. Have you found anything yet for your problem?  :oops:

is there a way to modify the patch and turn it into a 1024x768 patch!?
the problem is i actually don't know how to do these kind of things....but i can try if someone gives me a software to make it..
 
I'm not too sure either.. =/ Umm just a question for you, do you have aim or yahoo?

hey, i have a problem too (i figured this is best place to put it).  when i download this high res thing.. (the one we're talking about). i try to open it. it ask me what i want to open it with first. i try opening it with firefox (default) thats what it starts with. and it brings up a blank tab called "untitled" when i click "open". i dont know if its the patch or my computer. but can some one help.
 
looks like there's no solution but creating a new patch...though i'm not able to do so.

Some minor text glitches in the menu depending on your screen resolution, but you should be fine with that.
