I heard that ATI recently released new drivers that anti-alias 16-bit 3D games, like FF7 and FF8. Does anyone have a Radeon 9700 Pro and the games to try out and see how it looks? If so, what are your results?

FFVII - I got the same results as GeForce 4 Ti4200
FFVIII - Working on it...
FFXI - Benchmark: 5931

I got the same result as with the previous drivers, in 3D it works pretty well in conjuntion with anisotropic filtering but in the 2D it's a disaster as the images apear to divided in several blocks, tried to tweak the drivers a bit but so far no practical result's but i'll try some more tweaks and see what happens, my old radeon 64 VIVO did work perfectly so it can be a question of some tweaks well applied to solve the problem.

If you mess with FF7 and FSAA, you'll likely get some messed up grid on the background.  However, I think I've managed to pull it off with FF8.

Yes it is kinda strange. Without FSAA my FF8 background looks really messy (Lines running around)
With FSAA everything became ok... (The lines sort of "melted" by the FSAA effect I guess  :P)

well the closest thing i have to yours is RADEON 32mb Sdr, which is basicly the same. my driver dates are 1/20/2003. im still geting a failure in the 8bit textures       and i compleatly gave up on FF7PC. its useless on anything ATi based, because i cant get it running in D3D mode. all it lets me uses is software render. and for FF8. i had to use that NVIDA patch. cuz  the graphics are really bad.. i get line distortions.. ever since my computer crash i cant find the dern NVIDA patch anymore! can someone PLEASE gimmie a link to it?  :)
