FF7 Battle Menu Not Showing Up

Instead it has a black box with a bit of glitchy stuff at the side.

I'm using Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77

It sounds like you are using ePSXe. This forum is for the PC version of the game. If you want, google FF7 ePSXe settings. There are guides out there. Good luck!

No, not at all. The PC version gets more discussion but we're happy to work on the PSX version. However, we don't know the ePSXe ecosystem (many here use the PSX emulator for its debugging and reverse-engineering tools instead).
