I still need an answer for the Retranslation not working.

Also why is the alternate "ff7_enhanced_movies_1" files listed in red for parts 2-4 but part 1 listed in yellow? It's an alternate package and I already have the main ones yet they're still listed in red.

Perhaps somone can help me...my copy of FF7 comes tomorrow and I wanted too have all my mods ready by that time. The only thing currently in red is the FFVII Remix install. Do I really need this? It clearly states it is out dated but since it says too download everything red...should I really download it?

With the exception of what I talked above, my FF7 is fully modded now. And I downloaded the FFVII Remix. Even though it says outdated I've heard that it is still necessary for some things. I prefer the remixed musics for example. But even if you don't want the remixed musics you should download it anyway. I don't know what are the other minor things but nothing bad will happen lol so go ahead. :)

I believe FFVII Remix is outdated as a standalone mod, but other mods have developed that work off of it. Thus, it's needed to be installed for those others to work. I'm still newbie though, so I could be wrong  ;)

Thank you guys for the prompt replies! Only have too download one more set of packages and everything is green/yellow! So excited I found this game on PC for $40! What do you guys play it with? Do you think xpadder with a wired 360 controller would work?

Also, what music mod is the best too keep the original music (perhaps an HQ re-creation or something?) I was probably going to go with the ff7 music mod but im not sure :X

When you are running Bootleg there will be a time when it will ask you to configure the music installer. There, set to install the Remastered OST. PSF files (original psx soundtrack) will be installed too. After Bootleg finishes go to "\Final Fantasy VII\FF7Music" and run FF7Music.exe configure and at the "files" tab select what kind of soundtrack you want. ^^
As for the controllers I use Xpadder but with a Dualshock 3 controller and with Motionjoy set to "Playstation 1". Xpadder doesn't detect if I set as a Xbox controller so in your case I'm not sure if it will work.

When installing using bootleg, I left MSE on. This message came up.

I'm assuming this is the relevant mod thread - sorry if this isn't the right place. Is this an issue I need to be worried about?

As long as you downloaded it from the links provided here, you have nothing to worry about  :)

Hello it seems that every time i play more than 30minutes i get either a crash or 1Fps in battle so i have to alt f4,, also the Bootloader aint saving the changes no mater if i press Yes

EQ2Alyza,
The trojan warning are false positives.
The yamp patches aren't even used.  I'll remove them altogether.
The other false positive is related to Menu Overhaul.  I remember reading that DLPB is aware of the issue and may have already fixed it.

BAN___KAI,
This sounds like an issue with Windows UAC/DEP.  This is especially troublesome on Vista machine.  To correct the problem, install the game to a NON SYSTEM FOLDER.

From the Bootleg Readme:
Q:Where should I install Final Fantasy VII?
A:I recommend NOT using a system folder like 'Program Files' or 'Desktop' or any other system folder as the installation destination.
Instead, install to a folder such as 'Games' or a new folder of your choice.
Installing the game to a system folder sometimes results in missing mods and the inability to save or edit game files.

Hi there,
As many, I followed EQ2Alyza walkthrough  to install bootleg provided mods, using his configuration (I wanted a tested conf before I will try my own).

The process just hangs on "Installing Bloodshot's Additional Classic Battle Models" after 6 files have been copied.

Can someone please point me where it could have failed?

A lot of mods have already been installed, can I just kill the process and try to relaunch it? do I have to re-install the game from scratch?

Thanks for your great work!

edit: BTW, I'm using win7x64

I just launched the game, which started correctly. I went up to the first save point. The models are looking great, although those are not the ones I selected in BFE.
The combat screen is quite messed up, with the limit, life and mana bars quite not there.

I am trying to re-apply the mod on the install as I type. If it doesn't work, I'll try to restart from the very beginning.

edit²: hum... maybe I was out of space left for the tmp folder... I'll try move it on a larger drive.

last edit: end scene! that was the space left thing. sorry to have bother you! thanks again for those great tools!!! (I didn't see any flatter links around...)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but could anyone clarify if we need too rename any of the files in rumbahs video package (sharp or smooth)? I saw a post on his qhimm but nobody responded or clarified if it needed done. Thank you!

No, you do not need to rename the rumbah movies.
Bootleg takes care of that automatically.

I just want too say Pit thank you for all your hard work on this. It is amazing that Final Fantasy VII has been in stock for the PC until the advertisement starting going from from reddit and youtube and whatnot, and now its completely out of stock lol. You have brought back too life an old buggy PC game, and one of my favorites of all time!

I figured out my earlier problem.

Is there a way to get the original FMV's with the FinalFanTim music?

Google Docs is extinct and replaced with Google Drive. The old links don't work, but you can find the actual links in the mod list.
