The missing text an issue with Menu Overhaul.
Some missing scenes were added back but the text was omitted.
Rerun Bootleg, disable Menu Overhaul and select ENGLISH as the Translation language.

The menu overhaul is turned off and the re translation is in english so I dont understand.
 
ReTranslation causes the problem.
The Translation option I meant is in BFE under the GAME tab.

You'll have to reinstall FF7 and Rerun Bootleg to fix the issue.
 
so I have started to go thorough the installation process. I finally get to ostrE.zip and damn is it hard to download from rapidshare. The other links are bandwidth bogged and I have to wait 3 hours from RS.

Still can't get the damn thing to get past access is denied despite me , changing the permissions on absolutely everything on my C drive to full control. I don't understand what I am doing wrong.


32Bit Installation

Run Bootleg.exe with Administrator Priviledges.
Right click on Bootleg.exe and in the context menu:
    Select PROPERTIES
    Go to the COMPATIBILITY tab
    Check the box by 'Run this program as an administrator'

Completed Clean up.

Bootleg Aborted!
There was a problem during installation.
The game files might be damaged.

Please do a FULL install of Final Fantasy VII to a NON-SYSTEM folder.
Make sure that all MODS are in the SAME FOLDER with Bootleg.exe.

Close all open FF7 files and folders before starting Bootleg.

I have followed all of the procedures and reinstalled ff7 and bootleg multiple times , I am ready to just give up.

Are you running BFE.exe?  Try starting BFE.exe instead of Bootleg.bat.

yep this is after running bfe.exe and hitting run , however it IS missing OSTRe.7z will this make it not even attempt to run?
 
Are you logged in with an account that has administrator privileges?
Did you disable any virus scanning software and close all other programs?
Disable UAC.

Something is preventing bootleg from accessing the game folder.

Bootleg will still run without OSTRe.7z.
The FinalFanTim and Bootleg soundtrack options will not work.

Use this FF7Music installer instead:

The Reasonable Difficulty mod should work with ReTranslation.
I'm certain to find out after 0039 is available.

I already have nearly all of the game text in French.
The only part of the game that is not translated is the text contained within FF7.exe.
There isn't that much left to translate.  It's mostly the menus and battle text that remains in English.

Here is the English text that needs translated to French and Italian.

If it's just that text, I could do it. But I'm wondering, isn't the official translation for those terms good enough? Or is it a problem of knowing what matches the terms in the official translation?

Oh by the way, is it normal not to see any bar for HP and MP during battles? There's one bar for limit and one for ATB, but none for HP/MP. It's not glitchy, but I can't know what's remaining relative to total.

You should have the MP/HP bars.
Disable 9999 limit breaker in ff7_opengl.cfg.
You can do this via Bootloader in the Configure window.

Any translation would suffice.
The battle and menu text is so prominent.  It's important that it match the language of the rest of the text.
 
I have a Black Screen at the Condor Minigame,Sounds being ok:(

At Shinira Building Motorrace minigame i dint have any problems, anybody have ideas what can i do?
i dont think its the "speed problem" at minigames.
 
Note on what Sangoku said earlier, on the retranslation project. I followed it for a time, and still check the state of it from time to time.

The project, called Neo-Midgar, seeks to totally retranslate the game from the Japanese. The main project leader is Acro, and the main programmer is myst6re. Last time I checked, they wanted to be able to translate it from more than just the original French. This project is, no offense intended, better than DLPB's retranslation, mainly because it had gone on for longer and has many people participating. Translating from this translation to English would result in a perfect translation, as far as I can tell.

Replace .\data\minigame\condor.lgp with the original file from the CD-ROM.

the orginal file from the CD called "Gcondor",i think the "G" stay for German!
copy&paste the file,didn't work.
when copy this file Bootlader dont start,then i erase the "G",Bootloader starts but same black screen.


i click like a beast on the gamepad:)

The black screen during the Condor minigame bug is due to an incompatibility between the US ff7.exe and international versions of condor.lgp.
I'll compare the archives and determine which files are causing the issue.
Currently the only workaround is to avoid the Condor minigame entirely if you're using an international version of FF7.

EDIT:
Okay, I discovered the problem.  The texture file names differ for each version of the game.
I'll fix the texture file names, but there still might be an issue when running in PAL.

btw how i cant fix tha problem with (8bit texture fail)? is there any plan for 39 Bootleg in assiation with Aali's Custom Graphics Driver?


I do not know why, but I will not get rid of the feeling that it not only with the PAL version is due.
Last but not least, it were be fine when Bootleg automatic  wich Version of Game recognizes that it has installed version and then install the appropriate Patch 1.2.

Can someone tell me the file names for the Spanish and Italian versions?
I just assumed that substituting an S for Spanish and an I for Italian will work.

can i opend the file with "Ficedula LFG Tool"? i never must make this before...
 
The ficedula tool is outdated but it will work just to give me the correct file names.

I already disabled it. First it was all glitchy, like in the screenshot on the last page, then I disabled it. Now it's not glitchy, but there are no HP and MP bars.
