I recently discovered some more damaged files in the Remix version of battle.lgp.
I believe this is the source of battle scene crashes.
I've altered Bootleg to no longer use damaged Remix archives.

The Remix will be history soon!
Hi, did you also integrated the new Apz Cloud model and FF7Music, because I didn't find anything in the changelog.

I also read something about translations, does this mean the German, French and Spanish version of the game are supported?, and what happens if I
got the German version and I install Bootleg? and B) I install Bootleg with Menu Overhaul retranslation?

thanks in advance
Firefox23

Sadly, I cannot integrate APZ Cloud because it is an illegal mod.
I'm waiting for APZ to release his new canon Cloud.

The OCREMIX tracks are too large to include in Bootleg.  They are roughly 300MB in size.
I've not found another source for these tracks.  I'm currently working on creating a new pack for this music.
I hope to obtain looping OGG versions of at least some of the these tracks.
The OCREMIX will always remain a separate download.

Bootleg now supports international versions of FF7: Spanish, German, French and Italian.
The Spanish and German translations are mostly complete.  There is some menu text in English for the French and Italian versions.  Two of the FMV's no longer have subtitles: ending2.avi and jenova_e.avi.

Most features of the Menu Overhaul work with international versions of FF7.
The Menu Overhaul ReTranslation is only available in English.

thank you for your quick reply and will be APZ Cloud and OCREMIX be supported in 0039?

Yes, those mods are supported and require the presence of The Remix installer in the Bootleg mods folder.
There are multiple versions of The Remix installer available for download.
Only one complete version is necessary for Bootleg.

Huh? But APZ Cloud is in fact in the Final Fantasy Remix Patcher, just like the APZ Barret and the Remix Patcher is NOT illegal.

I'm really loving these patches! But every time I get to the Nibelheim flashback at the very first battle, my game crashes.

It's rather annoying, and I've tried it on Normal and Remastered and they both crash. Any clues?

Sora1995,
Yes, the crash during the Nibelheim flashback battle is a known issue with Intel graphics cards.
You may also experience a glitch which results in missing textures and black squares.
Try playing in a window at a reduced resolution.
Sometimes rebooting the computer and playing through the scene as quickly as possible works.
Never pause during battles.
Disabling the PNG textures works, but you won't have the improved graphics.
If all else fails, you can disable the textures, play through the scene and then enable the textures again.

Is the Intel video card the only GPU in your system?  This crash doesn't occur on Radeon and Geforce cards with at least 512MB.

I've made improvements and repaired damaged battle models in Bootleg 0039.
I doubt it will solve this particular problem, but there's hope . . .

EDIT:
When using an INTEL HD GPU with BOOTLEG, set the Power Management setting to HIGH PERFORMANCE.
Go to control panel | Hardware & sound | power options.
There is a setting for high performance for the whole system or just the GPU.

Well I tried that and it didn't work for me. It still crashed. I've tried everything but the PNG textures option, so I'll try that if I can figure out where to do it. I'll rerun BFE if I need to. I wonder if 0039 will fix it.. I'll test it if it's needed.

If you choose Battle Scenes as PNG, make sure the LGP option is unchecked.

Well, I just redid BFE with LGP checked instead of PNG and it still did the same thing.

Anymore ideas? Even tried the High Performance settings, still nothing.

With the Intel HD video cards, you must disable all the textures.
Disable both PNG and LGP textures.  Disable Upscaled Magic textures.
Also, in the Bootloader Configuration screen, disable PBO and Fullscreen.
Lower the game resolution to a maximum of 1280x960.

The Intel GPU's don't have enough ram to play the game with the new textures.

You can do a quick test to see if the game will run without textures by changing the mods folder.
Use the Bootloader Configuration to alter the mods folder name.
Change it to NONE.  Then try to play through the flashback scene.
Once you finish the scene, you can change the mods folder back to BOOTLEG.

Kinda offtopic: Does anyone know how to fix microsoft net .2 on vista? Without this won't be able to use Bootleg when it arrives :(

I disabled all of the textures and the PBO as well and it's still crashing. It's like this game doesn't want me to play it.

I tried my best to look this up on my own. Found something close but just not right. I applied the Menu Overhaul 005a and I am using bootleg 0038 along with many other mods. Picked the full install in bootleg and after I applied the menu overhaul weird boos battles. When I fought Dyne I faced normal enemies with boss music. I thought it was a 1 time fluke, but it wasn't. Then when I fought Reno and Rude in the blown reactor they turned into a grass enemy. So i stopped there to hold off. The only error I was getting is with Yuffie sprites. After the new Menu Overhaul comes out I will test again. I think it has something to do with the hardcore mod. Not to sure.
Any tips will be helpful.

Bootleg 0038 has an error when using Menu Overhaul and Hardcore or any other mode.
This is fixed in the 0039 release.
Please remain patient.

No worries man. You do great work! I can wait. I was doing all this by hand for a couple years and I just actually read what your program was. I thought it was to Bootleg FF7 so I never bothered checking it out. Taking 6 hours to do everything manualy and boom your program takes like 10 minutes tops. I love love it.
Haven't been this happy since my divorces :)
