The goal of this mod is to update the spell names to their modern counterparts (E.g., Bolt2 > Thundara) as well as provide more informative spell/item info (E.g., "lightning element attack" > "Deals moderate lightning damage"). All spell names are real/official names you can find on finalfantasy.fandom.com.

Compatible with New Threat 2.0

Hey, so I wanted to use this mod, but it breaks any changes I've made with the wall market tool. My weapons don't have the changed materia slots, stats, etc... Is this a known issue because of the text changes to the spells maybe?

Yes, that's because this mod is in itself, a kernel edit. so when this mod is active, it overwrites your custom kernel. In your case, you can unpack my mod and patch my kernel together with yours in wallmarket... Other option would be; you can edit your custom kernel with the changes I made manually, which I have posted in the OP.

hi, is there a way to use this mod without 7th Heaven thing ?
cuz when i use the mod manager, i'm unable to use the d-pad.. thats why i'm playing without mods

You can use Antimicro and map your dpad to you keyboard to regain dpad functionality.

i'm already ScpToolkit, does it make conflict with that Antimicro thing ? sry for asking, but im bad with computers :P

You're probably using New Threat (and an old version, at that). Make sure the New Threat option is selected in the Spell Names mod. The newest version of New Threat automatically selects the correct option for you.

Bug report: with New Threat enabled, Diamond/Pearl Weapon becomes Carmine Weapon when fought.

Try updated version just posted in OP. It only touches the spell name/info strings and doesn't effect anything else. If the problem still persists after that, let me know but after that, I would ask in the NT thread.

Loco weed - Uses "Confu" on all opponents > Loco week - Uses "Confuse" on all opponents
Is this an intentional name change? The original is an actual term, and I don't see any references to the latter in future FF games.

If you're talking about "week", no, it's not actually a change. It's a typo in the post. It doesn't say "week" in the game. I just checked to be sure.

If you're talking about Confu>Confuse, yes it's intentional. It's been "Confuse" in every game since VII.

Hey, thanks for the mod. Just curious, if I remember correctly, Life/Full-Life has changed to Raise/Arise in modern FF (starting from XII?), I wonder if you have any plan to change those names. Cheers.

Hi Bonez, thanks for this release, there is any possibility to have it compatible with New Threat 2.0995?
Thanks a lot!

Hey, sorry, but I'm not sure where exactly to put this and I'm not sure if this is still being looked at ever, but there seems to be a conflict now with the New Threat 2.0 mod where it either doesn't work at all when placed below NT, or does work but removes the custom text for NT entirely in other aspects of the menu such as weapon stats and custom materia when placed above NT.
