Alright, I have followed the many tutorials, downloaded the 1.02 patch, extracted it. Downloaded the custom driver, extracted it. Clicked 'custom' then OK. Set my resolution. Open the game...sound but no picture!

Disabling EVGA Precision set the picture from black too white and I can actually see the main menu somewhat. Everything is white but the cutout on the text. For the heck of it I click 'start' Opening FMV is completely white, hear sound fine. When it gets too the train, I can see NPC's.

Cloud jumps off, Barret turns around (he has NO eyes, they are all white!). Music plays just fine...thats as far as i've gotten though. Does anyone have ANY idea what could be going wrong?

I am running a GTX 580 with the latest Nvidia drivers. Reinstalled them a few times with driversweeper too alleviate that problem.

Hi duarian

Look here and download the files for "Everything is made of light fix" and copy these files in the "[gamedir]\shaders\nolight" folder.

Ah...that looks like exactly the problem I am having. Thank you! I am going to reinstall the game again..

I do recall 3-4 installs ago I accidently left the direct x 5.1 drivers on too install. Do you know any way to get rid of those by chance? :X

Not really. But I believe DirectX 5.0 have not really installed.

Working on installing it now. The MIDIs and music worked great. Hopefully FF7 music will work. I will post back with my results

Have a slight issue...you may be able too help me with it (im hoping anyway). Not 100% sure what to do about it though :-(. I sent you a PM though instead of spamming the forums.
