I don't exactly understand what you are talking about. I am not trying to be ignorant. I use a nvidia GTX 580 with the latest WQHL driver so I don't think I installed it wrong? Not exactly sure what you mean by Intel...

Hi duarian

Sorry, I got you confused with someone  :(.

But "ERROR: GL_INVALID_OPERATION" seems to be an OpenGL issue...

Maybe try an older driver?

NVIDIA's latest drivers play the game just fine, and a codec pack should not affect the game if he's using Aali's driver (especially if movies such as the opening logos are one of the few things that ARE working correctly).

duarian, what version of ff7 do you have, and do you have the 1.02 patch? I think some of the mods in bootleg might not be compatible with the non-English versions.

Hi Covarr

You're right, that codec pack is not necessary, but the message "INFO: slow output format from video codec indeo5, 6" means that, despite Aalis driver uses this old codec.
And the message "ERROR: GL_INVALID_OPERATION" is an OpenGL error, or not?
And the message "INFO: Auto-detected version: FF7 1.02 US English" indicates, that he has install the 1.02 Patch.

I did a Max install of the game. Updated it too 1.02 and used the custom driver. I go into the ff7config and get the message that it was successful and leave it at custom and click OK. Then I run the game via ff7 music.

Regular English version that came in a triangle shaped box. I let bootleg install everything including the 1.02 patch and the custom driver (it does) I might om my next install try doing the patch and the driver manually then running bootleg.
...not sure if it will make a difference or not

The videos play sound but I get no picture. As for music...yeah haha none of that sadly :-(

I suspect the problem is with Bootleg. If you reinstall everything, make sure to test it before and after installing bootleg, to make sure that's not where the problem is. You may also want to install ff7music separately, and see if that works without bootleg.

Do you remember what specific mods you used in bootleg?

I honestly don't know. There are so many of them. I literally was just replying saying that if I play the game after a fresh install with no mods it works fine (the game...didn't try it with ff7 music yet).

I'm going to try later after installing patch 1.02 and the custom driver and seeing if it still works then.

Is there a limit too what resolution the custom driver can handle?

There shouldn't be, except for the limits your graphics card has with any game.

Hi duarian

Start the "FF7Config.exe" with admin rights. Select "Graphic", "sound" and "MIDI" and make the tests. That should hopefully fix some registry keys.

Ill try that later. I know I did the MIDI test and all the channels played the chocobo sound. I currently have it set too SPDIF out because I have optical running too my receiver.

I'm sure its something within bootleg...just a matter of what. Sadly pitbrat isn't as responsive as you two :-(.

Hi duarian

The videos play sound but I get no picture.
It looks as if Aali's driver does not work.
Your app.log is possibly an outdated, look in the folder of FF7Music whether there is a newer app.log.
The first line it should be "INFO: OpenGL driver version 0.7.11b FF7/FF8". If not, Aali's driver does not work.

Ill do this after work. Thank you guys for your quick replies and help. I really appreciate it. If the issue persists ill post my ff7 music app log.

Either way...I'm not getting any music either so somethings going wrong in the bootleg install. Ill try installing ff7 music, the driver and patch manually first and seeing if it works.

Well, bad news. I am back to square one. On a fresh install, I can get too the menu (thats all that shows up actually, no video or anything). When I click start the screen just goes black and nothing happens.

I install the 1.02 patch and the custom driver, boot it up. I hear the logo and can hear the menu options but once again get zero picture...sigh. I really don't understand what the problem is

I'm on windows 7 64 bit home. Installed the game on D:\FF7 (D is my second hard drive)

what says the current app.log?
Do you have used FF7Config with admin rights?

not trying to blow up the thread...but whenever I disable EVGA precision, instead of a BLACK screen I get a WHITE screen and eventually I see the words 'unable too open file D:\FF7\ff7input.cfg'

I am at a complete loss here...because that shouldnt do anything. Everything is completely white. When it gets too the opening train sequence, I can actually see the NPC's. Barret doesn't have eyes. Other than NPC's everything is white. wow haha

I think, we shold go to  Troubleshooting, this problem is not Covarr's Installer...

Yeah, I am already headed there. This has nothing to do with FF7music so thanks for attempting too help me guys. Very much appreciate it.

I am not getting this popup... FF7Music isn't even working now.

"The program can't start because libg7221_decode.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

... So... What?

Have you changed anything since installing ff7music? in_vgmstream, which is used to play psf files, requires that library, but it's installed alongside ff7music. I can't imagine how that file would've gone missing.

If you ever move ff7 or ff7music, it's STRONGLY advised to reinstall it. Although, moving it is kind of a bad idea anyway, since it breaks a lot of mods if it's not where you originally installed it to.
