Bam, got your torrent.

https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/7342761/FF7Music_Installer

Not sure if that torrent is working correctly though (Having some weird problems uploading to tpb). Just in case that doesn't work here's the direct magnet URI which should.

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:E31E181CD9112B8AD08A561C9B8D0227A6329BAA&dn=ff7music&tr=udp%3a//tracker.openbittorrent.com%3a80/announce

Sorry if it goes slow, obviously it still needs more seeders.
Thx for this.  downloading and seeding

I'm well aware of this.

I have a better solution than Rapidshare/Dropbox in mind, but it's waiting until after the fifteenth, when I get my next paycheck.
Covarr: I have ~200GB/month of bandwidth on a webserver going spare, if that's useful.

I don't know how much bandwidth the OSTs consume over the course of a month...

Whoa, you haven't been around much the past few years. It's good to see ya!

Unfortunately, the OSTs consume >1TB a month (and rising, thanks to Bootleg as well as recent publicity from Kotaku). I'm going to be investing in a CDN soon; it's a fairly hefty spend, but it's also going toward some unrelated personal projects and I probably would've bought it anyway. This should eliminate bandwidth problems once and for all.

Doubtful. A dropbox free account only allows up to 10GB/day bandwidth, and the OST regularly goes over that.

Trying really desperately to figure this out. I installed FF7Music as part of the Bootleg Configurator. I select to use the Remastered OST. I launch FF7 in windowed mode, and then when I unfocus the tab, all of the music stops (but sound effects still work).
I uninstall FF7Music and run FF7 and I get this same exact issue. Does anyone have any idea?

Manually extract OSTRe.7z into the game folder inside .\FF7Music\OSTRe\

There is no update. And thanks to a mistake on my part, even when there is it won't work. Just click no instead.
I replaced launchFF7 with a simple batch script, so I wouldn't have to deal with the update popup on every launch. e.g.:
Code: [Select]
Code:
@echo offstart C:\ff7\FF7Music\FF7Music.exestart C:\ff7\FF7.exe
That saved as a text file with a name like StartF77.bat, with a desktop short to it. Under properties of the shortcut, the icon can be changed to the pretty launchFF7 version.  Under Properties > Shortcut > Advanced, check to run as Administrator. That'll save you from having to click the UAC dialog twice ;)

well i have been searching for hours and ive been looking around this web site and i could not find the right info or if it was a download thing i could not  download them because i guess they were old  but i just want to change the audio from the pc  and put in the audio from the ps1 version its not really for me its for my brother he came down on a leave from USMC and when he get out of work he get board so ive downloaded a few games and this game FF7 we play when we were little so i am trying to get this done pretty fast but i thought i should sign up so i can get some help and i am going to try and to the graphic mods on my laptop but i want to get this done first i need to know what are the update file ive seen some posts that say put dated . this is a confusing process i have got the music files that i need but the installing part im not so sure of so if anyone can help me i would be very grateful

So i installed from the torrent - games/ff7/FF7Music. when i run ff7music.exe as admin from the folder it pops up with this in a ff7music window:
DataPath is c:\games\ff7\ficedula\
Init patches
Reading ini...
Parsing paths... -currently Custom_Music
OSTRe
FF7_PSF
c:\games\ff7\ficedula\
.\

File search paths:
   Custom_Music\
   OSTRe\
   FF7_PSF\
   c:\games\ff7\ficedula\
   .\
Files count: 0
Patch init done
------------------------------
after this nothing happens. I do have the ostre folder populated. The only way i can make something happen is by running launcherff7.exe from /ff7music as admin, it will as for update, i press no, then the game launches without sound. what am i doing wrong?

Hi Adept,

Files count: 0
This means FF7Music is not capable of any song with the MIDI's link. Probably a bug in the "ff7music.ini"
Please start ff7music.exe (for my sake with admin rights), click on "Configure" tab, then click the "Files".
Click on the small arrow in "Profiles" and find out the desired profile.
Click on "Save and Exit" and close ff7music (important).
The changes made are effective until the next start of FF7Music.exe.

EDIT:

@ Covarr

You have forgotten the \ by "Paths=" inside your FF7Music.ini

Paths=Custom_Music\;OSTRe\;FF7_PSF\

It is installed with the installer. It should show up in the same folder as ff7music.exe, if I recall correctly.

THANKS TO WHO CAN HELP ME ...

Hmm... is it in the ficedula folder? I thought it was supposed to be in the same folder as ff7music itself, but I may be remembering wrong.

Or it's set to hidden for some reason, and you need to tell windows to display hidden files.

Hi TABS1975

The ff7music.ini is usually found in [gamedir]\Ficedula
In rare cases, can not understand why, they are also found in
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII

Greeting Kompass63

Hi new user here, I'm currently downloading the torrent, as all other methods of getting OSTRe seem to be crazy slow. The torrent seems to be a little slow, but I'll continue seeding for the foreseeable future to help others out.

Thanks to everyone here at qhimm for helping bring FFVII back to life. I haven't played it since the PS1 days, and what you all have done with it is absolutely amazing.
