I would like to know what this modd offers more than the ff7music_installer included in bootleg 0039 ?
 
It's not "more", it's "different". Different selection of music, mainly.
 
Okay, thanks. What do you think of 'bootleg' selection on the FF7music.exe ? It's the option where we have the fantastic black mage theme as boss theme.
Personnaly, I like !  What 'audio modd' do you prefer ?
 
^ I would personally recommend this over Bootleg but if you want to keep some of the tracks from the Bootleg selection just copy em and place it over some of this selections.
 
Okay, so I'm a super n00b when it comes to modding anything. I have the installer downloaded, and (from what I understand) the NEW FF7 - recently purchased from SE. I don't understand from the installer "README" whether I am supposed to install the files in the "/data/music ogg" folder, or just the "Program files86/square enix/ffVII" folder. I don't wanna ruin the game I just bought and want to make sure I am doing this right. I tried reading the read me but I feel unsure. Sorry to bother you guys!

From readme

Simply choose which music you want to install, and click next/install,
then wait until the process completes.  It is important that you choose
to install to the ROOT folder of the game.  In other words, the folder
where ff7.exe resides. This installer should locate the root for you.

If using the New FF7, you will have to manually locate the root.
Please make sure the root is 100% correct before proceeding.

You have to select the root.  The root is the folder that has ff7 exe in it.  As the readme tells you.  In your case the folder that has ff7_en.exe.

Thank you very much for the help. I think I have it working now, my problem was not checking the NEW version in installation. Stupid error on my part. If I have any further problems I will let you know.

Is there any way we can support this project (monetarily or otherwise) for a job well done?

Sometimes it is tempting to ask for donations for all the hard work but then you have to factor in that the soundtrack wasn't created by me and that making money off mods like this one (where I am using the official soundtrack) is probably illegal (I dunno... guessing).

Any case, since I don't know the legality, qhimm's position on it, and moreover I'd feel... bad for asking for donations, the only real support you can give me is a thanks and to let others know about the mod :)

Not exactly true since Qhimm himself takes donations for everything found here. Donations are a bit of a grey area. There are a number of churches in my area that hosts 'movie' night. Where they ask for donations to get a ticket, I highly doubt anyone's hauling the priest off to jail.
 
Okay well I'll tell everyone that I know that this mod is super easy to use and runs flawlessly for me so far. Should you ever take to accepting donations or anything I would love to support the work you do.

My 2 cents on "donations" (pun intended) is that although you didn't create the content - you arranged it and made it readily available. It's essentially what modern musicians do, and a host of them make a killing. You shouldn't feel obligated to take the high road, we all have bills to pay and you put time into this. So thank you.
 
heh, perhaps I will shove a paypal link in for donations next time in readme.  people who actually read it and want to can do so, at same time I won't need to look at it and feel guilty  :P  It isn't really me though.  I guess if people want to they can.  I certainly wouldn't expect it or require it.
 
May I suggest leaving it at the top so people that don't read it "properly" will still have a chance to see the link?

I can't download this on torrent for the AH.exe, it can't connect to the tracker..
Is there other way than torrent to get it ?

Thanks to you ajthedj747, I have it and I can say : Wooooow, that songs are just awesome ! It changes from my precedent 'bootleg' choice in ff7 music  :)

Maybe it's just me, but I believe this is Square-Enix's fault on the re-release.

In the Shinra Mansion's basement, usually Vincent's theme will override the battle music and fanfare themes should the player have an enemy encounter. But in this new version the music stops playing altogether for the duration of the battle, and will only resume on the fanfare, then Vincent's theme will resume. Is it just me or Square-Enix screwed it up?
