I got bored and decided to have some fun with changing the avatars.

So, this ones pretty simple. I' just used the character illustrations.

I'll post more in game screen-shots in a while.

I'll improve it if you guys have suggestions or comments about it. Thanks.

Hi, when i tried to replace tex files with bmp files using LGP-Tools, the program did nothing.
But i got it to work using the import featiure in Highwind's Tex-Viewer.

Hey thanks for these. Although I haven't tried them in game yet, I'm sure they will look great. I like the fact that they look closer to the originals than the Advent Children ones.

I think these are the nicest avatars yet, amazing what a bit of photoshopping can do. I'm guessing you got these from magazine scans, or from the FF7 promotional pictures.

very sweet idea that i'm surprised nobody thought of until now, well done.

Edit link works now i don't know what happened lol

sorry for second posting this thread (bump) but i want these to work with my ff7 game  :|

Dont try to replace them. Extract the menu_us.lgp to a folder. Copy the new files into the folder. Then create a new lgp using that folder as the source. Then copy over the original menu_us.lgp

i tried it this way... but the files are in a .bmp format... but i renamed them to .tex files but still didnt work...

EDIT: or did i mess up changing them to ".tex" format?

Just leave them as .jpg and use A<>B replace on each individual portrait and you should be fine

or use img2tex by borde to convert them to tex files then insert in game

I could never get that to work  :|    See Aali's "Rainbow Jesus" for success
