Nothing to do with Reunion's patch. Vincent's model has always been messed up during that portion of the game.
Yeah the level maps in that area load an animation file that does not fit the number of bones in Vincent's hierarchy...

Let me check... it loads acfe.a Now it should load afdf.a
I think this only happens in ancnt1, ancnt4 but it could be more...

And if anyone really cares I can make a patch to fix it...

That would be neat, but not nnecessary, unless you really want  to do such a thing.

Btw, Nilai, I had said "patch or no patch", so I know it wasn't his mod that was causing the problem. :P
 
Firstly, hi everyone (first post :P )

Reunion, exellent work on your patch so far.
I was wondering if its possible to make hi-res models for every character in the game.

I understand this might not be possible, or if it is, it might take a long time to complete.
I'm not asking you to do it personally, just if its at all possible.

Hey Reunion, I tried to save over the char.lgp file by dragging the patched files into the old char.lgp archive. Well, I did manage to create a new char.lgp that way, but when I run the game, it crashes at the part where you try to enter the bridge of the Highwind. I then tried to enter Rocket Town (I'm now at the part where Shinra are going to launch the rocket to the meteor). It was fine but it crashes after a few screens :(

From the one of the previous posts, you said to replace the modified menu_us.lgp with the original one. I tried that. It got a little better ie I could go through and fight the Shinra soldiers; and the scene in the rocket where you see Cid talking to Cloud was really cool. However, after the FMV, the game crashes... again. And I still cannot enter the bridge of the Highwind without it crashing. Any idea what was wrong?
 
I am proud to say that after working at this for about 2 hours, I finally got this patch working. I'm using the latest version and the models look absolutely gorgeous. I really do wish for a day when this game's NPC textures are all brought to life as this incredible group has done the main characters.

Does anyone here think I should post a tutorial on how to get this patch working along with "sp00nfed" screenshots and everything? A ton of people apparently are having problems figuring out how to do this, and I really feel that as many people should see this amazing work as possible.
 
please do ^_^ or at least pm me on what you did. I can't seem to get the LGPTools to create a new lgp file from a folder...
 
That patch is great, but I think the length of the characters legs kinda don't fit the animations.

Barret running, for instance.
 
There's room for more tweaking in alot of areas. As long as everyone stays motivated at making new skins and tweaking existing ones we can do it. I plan on starting with several updated Shinra office executives, and maybe even Tseng once I study this project a little more.

Reunion: I haven't reached the point of the game where Cloud has the flashback with Sephiroth in Kalm, but do you think it'd be nice to replace the skin there with the original Cloud battle skin? It would definitely give him a "younger" feel, and sorry if you've already done this or it isn't possible.

The Eyes expressions are awesome , i noticed just a thing:The characters moves looks goffy on certain scenes. Unrealistic.
 
Veclord: definatly impossible, as it calls in the same model for whatever you're currently using as your cloud battle model.

Does anyone here happen to know which specific tools I need to get started on writing some decent NPC models in support of this patch? I've tried several but they all seem to be just for "viewing" the textures as opposed to building some from scratch or physically editing them. Reunion's breakthrough has inspired me, and I'm definitely willing to invest some hours into this project.
 
If by "textures" you mean the 3d models, i think you can build'em up in 3dmax or anim8or, but converting them to .p is the pain in the ass.  I think alhexx has been working on .p encoding with some success, though i'm not 100% sure how well that's going ATM.
 
someone please help me im trying to install the patch ive been following velcords tutorial ive done everything up to a certain bit where u have to run the patch but everytime i download it it comes as a .rar and i dont know what to do

my game doesn't load too...any help please? :( i followed all the instrunctions and the game once opened crashes even before the Eidos movie...please please help
 
Here are a few things I noticed:

Cloud seems to like the "un-beaten path":

Why does Vicent's model do that? Patch or no? Something wrong with his coding or something?

he was always blue, watch when he goes in water, its supposed to be the shade of water but his model is different so it will make all of his body blue for some reason.

p.s. what release is this.. 1.5? what, what are the flaws to it, all i know is the N.P.C'S aren't done yet.
