Whatever you do DO NOT release those Disney models, coz you know how they can get over copyright...
 
A little editing to that Tifa with a pony tail and you could make a Lucrecia model.
 
No offense but these just don't fit Final Fantasy VII for the Playstation 1 man.  Pitch in on the NPC RP, it's so perfect.  It's the way it was originally supposed to be, but I think they threw together some lego men models because it was rushed.  Notice the transition from VII to VIII?  These models are just too realistic.  They don't fit the animation or the backgrounds.  This may be just my opinion I don't know.  Anyone agree?
 
hm, i think it would be sweet if someone made a ff8 'kimera', then we would be able to make decent models insteadof just some 2D textures moving onscreen

I think we need to see them on an actual FFVII background before we can judge.  Also, I think half the battle with avoiding the "poke your eye out-ness" is making sure the models are all of a uniformed style.  Not Disney models mixed with lego men, as it were.  Also, the Disney models arn't that realistic - they still have a very cartoony element about them.

As I said first off, we're gonna have to wait till we see them in-game before we can judge.

Legality be damned, I'm really liking the progress you are making with this. I still have all the .3ds files for the weapons I made a while back if you are still looking for some textured weapons.
 
Yes!. Only 91 more models ago! (from 348 more or less) XD, But the copyright problem is still here---

I make "Sword Imporvements" for Cloud's weapon and I will complete the collection for him and Tifa (and maybe Yuffie and Aeris too, at least XD). I make these Sword starting from zero and these (Buster Sword) are my first step creating models jeje. Hope it likes you...

These all look GREAT.  Not too realistic and not too cartoonish, fits right into the FF7 universe.
 
I did neglect to mention that.  They do all look awesome, I'm just surprised that if I was using them, I'd be tempted to fight with the Nail Bat, a weapon I openly Hate!
But they are all very good.  Well done. :-)
 
I particularly like the Rune Blade... its very cool looking now... almost has a watery effect to it.
