FF8 file paths

Is there a way that I can change the file paths for the discs in FF8.  It wants to use my cd burner instead of the cd-rom for some odd reason.  Thanks in advance for the help.

If you are not comfortable editing the registry... I believe you can reinstall the game from the drive you want to use.  It wouldn't take very long, either, because it skips installing files that are already there - - and it should change the registry path.
 
that's a very common problem but i don't want to mess up my computer so i leave it as is.

oddly enough ff 7 won't work in my burner.

weird right?
