Updated first post with download link for the complete video pack. There are still things I need to fix and most of the videos were not tested ingame.
Yes! Thank you. I was waiting for this. :D I'll test them all out for ya.

These are a great improvement over the steam modified ones i had, lots of detail and the image is clean for the most part, Great job!

I believe Halfer found it in assembly - there is FPS limiter indeed in the game. Switching it off makes the game act like speed booster on Steam version. There are two movie playing functions in engine, every single points to core movie playing algorithm, that every time disables the FPS lock, therefore anytime movie is played, the fps limit is dropped and as soon as the movie ends, the frame limiter is again set. Forcing frame limiter on movie makes it go with normal speed, but displays only 1/2 of frames. It's like a frame skipping on movie. The frame limiter variable is operated only from movie playing sub-functions [or at least IDA shows it so]
I have never tested it personally, but the game should display any FPS movie.
You said halfer found the block... is there a way to lock the frame limiter to 30fps for everything?  world/battle/menu??? right now it's set at 15 fps for battles, 30fps for world, and 60 fps for menu

Sorry for temporarily hijacking the thread.  If you'd like, you can always pm me the answer, Maki :)

Hello. The link is dead unfortunately... Someone could reupload it please ?

Thanks you very much
Project Norg is good because FMV are in 16:9 BUT yours have less pixel and the speed of them are FLUID :)

What's the difference between this and others FMV Replacement Pack?

I mean, i can see the difference and i think this is the best, but i would like to know how you worked on it (the main post doesn't specify the improvements of this replacement pack).

Anyway these videos are supposed to be 30 fps?, because when i reproduce the intro "disc00_30h" my videoplayer says "15 FPS".

The main download pack is not yet converted into 30fps since there's still a bug in the game that will make the game weird when the fmv is in 30fps. We can convert the video into 30fps even 60fps, there will be some very small improvement but it will be quite hard to match it with the 15fps gameplay without some tweaking.

I dont know what he did to the videos but I think this is the best version compared to Project NORG. Great colors and less pixelated.
Also Project NORG used videos from the old 2000 game file while zwuw use the steam version video files.

Could be a good idea to convert only the "movie" cutscenes to 30 fps, leaving the gameplay scenes to 15 fps.

It's possible to change video framerate by editing the .cam files but character animations still need to be fixed. I don't have too much info on .cam files but if anyone needs it leave a message.

Any hopes to make this mod compatible with the new "Remastered" edition. I tried to import one FMV and I got a "no header found" error message upon running the game at the point where the FMV should have been played...

If you convert the files to webm format, they might work from what I understand.

I had a look at this a while ago.

The remaster seems to require an mkv header. If you run the files through mkvtoolnix it can correct it.

However you then get an error because the remaster also requires vorbis audio. So you would need to re-encode the pcm audio.

Also I found that you can run into memory issues if you pack too much into other.zzz. The 4gb patch didn't work.

Thank you, that explains the issues I was having, then I guess I will leave the FMVs alone for now...

Hello ZWUW, I liked your HD replacement fmv for ff8 so much I re-encoded them for my own personal use for ff8 remastered. Do you mind if I put them up on the qhimm forums for others to download? cheers!
