hmmm....the way the text in the screen shots look....I've seen it before....Oh, that's right! That's the way it looks when you use an emulator!
(note to everyone: I'm not that slow, I'm just being sarcastic to show that the screenshots alone raised my suspicions that it was an April Fools joke.)

That screenshot from the opening movie looks like it's high-resolution. Wonder how they did that?
Anyway, doesn't really matter about ff9 for the PC anymore because the emulators work so well.

Kinda cool how they made them look hi-res, like the FF8 movies. They should have done it to the fonts, then I definately would have believed it!
This is pretty cool too...
[Edit II] I see... Looks like they took high-res desktop backgrounds or something from Square and added the text onto them. Tricky. 800x600 would be cool though.
