Nah, ED tried to piss people off as well. The big difference is, ED has an actual developed sense of humor, based on a combination of in-jokes and more general comedy. Uncyclopedia's style of "funny" is based entirely on being completely random.

ED is basically an extension of 4chan and related cultures. It's what would happen if anon edited Wikipedia.

There is a "Final Fantasy VII" article on Encyclopedia Dramatica.  It's rather unsafe for work...
