Is it just me or does nobody use handheld consoles as handheld consoles anymore..? 9 times out of ten when I see somebody playing on a DS it's in the comfort of their own home. That doesn't make sense...huddled over looking at a 2x4 inch screen when you're sitting next to a 32" TV...

It's certainly weird. The only real use I can see for handhelds is gaming on the move (something that I rarely do). The screens are tiny and they are less powerful, so I can't see why people use them like home consoles.

Then again, maybe they just want to play the exclusives? I know that I only ever play games on handhelds when there isn't a console version, and then I do so grudgingly. Thankfully, the DS can be emulated, so I can play its exclusives on a monitor in portrait mode. I only wish the PSP could be emulated; until then, I have to strain my eyes to play CC, Dissidia and other games that were only made for PSP. I really hate it when games are exclusive to handheld consoles...

With the advent of smartphones, I wonder what will become of handhelds? Hopefully, they'll disappear and companies will no longer make games that I really want to play but force me to do so on a tiny little screen with uncomfortable controls (especially the PSP analogue stick; god I hate that thing). Bastards. >:(

As you might be able to tell, I don't like handhelds. :D
