Saint: So you're syaing there weren't any Jap voices on FFXi? But FFXi was only released in Japan. I'm getting confused. So Square Japan thought they'd sell even more copies by putting on English voices and not Japanese? Well, I guess I can see their point but the ultimate version would be Eng/Jap voices with Eng/Jap subtitles, did Square ever think of that? It's not like it wouldn't fit on the DVD. :roll:
 
Well known fact. Japanse people LOVE english voices. I've heard some crazy stuff along the lines of Japanse people prefer to see some of there anime dubbed in english and subtitled in Japanse! But considering the quality of most Enlish anime dubs I somehow doubt this...

Yes, they only released it so that people in Japan get a chance to "listen" to English voices.
 
oh the horror! the jap get to see the crap voice acting and bad lip syncing of the english version !!! :(
 
I remember one conversation between Tidus and Yuna where it sounds like James Arnold Taylor had gone for a lunch break half way between the convosation and lost the emotion. :roll: Maybe they just weren't paid enough?

Bad lip sync? Haha. Try playing the NTSC version. FFX suffers from about say 10% pal slowdown. And they didnt slow the voices down did they. So there for the lip sync suffers because of this.

And I didnt think the voice acting was that bad. Tidus could use some work, Aurons was just right, Wakkas was tight, Yunas could have used some work to...  Lulus was good... infact. Only Tidus and Yuna could have used work imo. Not *that* bad for Squares first voice game.
 
What about The Bouncer? Never played it myself. It got bad ratings. I heard it was FF Final Fight One.  :(
 
aarons voice was almost spot on, suited the character down to a T,
and lulu as well was good.

Yes it was a beat-em-up, but why is that bad? Bushido Blade rocked on toast. Ergiez was also quite good by many accounts.
 
I have to disagree about Lulu's actor. When she says "Yuna will bring a new clam, one that will last forever", it seems so forced and unlike what anyone would ever say. Actors what I think were brilliant:

Grand Maester Mika
Yu Yevon (yeah you heard!  :D)

I didnt really like Tidus' voice at first.. but then i suppose i got used to it.. Yuna was alright too same thing i think.. i got used to it.. .. LuLu is just Hot!! God she is Hot!  Her voice was perfect too... ok i will stop now..
