Everything seems to be set up correctly. Module files in their correct directory, all of the music seems to be set up correctly, plug-ins (winamp cross fader and such) set up correctly, cetra patch applied. I can't find anything wrong, however when running FF7 I get the following two errors:

Runtime error at 217 at 1A780

and:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the application.

From there, FF7 just completely exits. Does anyone have a similar problem? Is there any known fix to this?

whats ur set up? what windows
what version of FF7 u running etc
what settings

I get the exact same thing. No matter which ff7 version i use.I think its an xp bug with CENTRA and not ff7music since i got it working just fine with version 1.05 build 1(someone gave it to me) which DOESNT need centra to work.Hope this helps :)

Render Using - D3d HW Accl.

I would also like to note that the Runtime error occurs with nearly every one of Fice's programs

I too have a question about the FFVII Music thing that Ficedula made... I am pretty sure it has been asked before but I am asking it and I think that it should be moved to the FAQ section.

Where can I get the "ficedula.dll" file that Cetra needs to run?

Kendrilian

Herr Ficedula, I know it is supposed to be there, but where is it?  I looked through the whole site and didn't find it...

Kendrilian

Just go to one of the programs (say, Cetra, since that's what you're trying to run ... Cetra is listed under "FF7 Programs" unsurprisingly) and you'll notice every program has a "Libraries" link above it. That'll take you to a page where you can download all the DLL's the program needs...in Cetra's case, just ficedula.dll.

synt4x: Do you have the latest version of Ficelib (ficedula.dll) ? If not, get it from my site (like I told Kendrilian how to) and try with that.

EDIT:
Synergy: Ah, I see you got in just before me! :D

Danka Schon Herr Synergy Blades and Ficedula.  That should have done it.

Kendrilian

Edit: I take it back I have the same problems as Herr Synt4x does now. I will try to run it in Win 98 and see if that fixes anything.

Kendrilian II

Edit II:  No it doesn't work... hmm..

Windows XP Pro
Pentium II 266
256 MB RAM
nVidia TNT2 M64, 32 MB
SoundBlaster Live (I think)

Kendrilian III

Gahh. I hope this isn't XP related, because I don't own or use XP, so I have no way to test things on it...

Oh, yeah.  That's right SoundBlaster... um what he said.  It isn't XP related because I tried it in Windows 98 and it didn't work there either...

Kendrilian

Yeah, well.  Herr Mirex I don't ever take the time to get the "ö" in there...

Kendrilian

In that case, I'm kinda stumped. Error 217 is a Control-C exception, which shouldn't happen at all in windowed (non-console) programs. I'll have a root around, but I haven't really got much to work from here...

Ahh ... right, that makes more sense, then. Thanks Jari; I didn't know about that! Might be able to do something about it then...
