Although from the vids seems menus & font can be at least "sharpened":

Anyway, i've been searching threads in this section and seems no one tried to do some overhaul to summons and let's be realistic, they're part of the magic of FF series. That guy from the vids i posted before seems to be using models from other FFs to replace the original ones:


Ifrit -> FF8 (?)
Shiva -> FF10
Odin -> FF8 (?)
Neo Bahamut -> FF10
Bahamut-ZERO -> new model?
Choco -> new model?
Ultima Weapon -> new model?

Anyway, don't take this as dissing, i'm loving the work you guys are putting here, didn't know people still worked on FF7 until some days ago, and every little work is awesome to make the game better.

Just hoping someone with modeling skins happens to remodel summons someday  :-D
That screenshot is out of date, it's from v2.3.1 IIRC. The newest version has all of the latest updates and looks better. (I should really upload a new vid). I don't even think that's the issue though, it's probably just a matter of video quality. I took my videos at 640x480 because my computer couldn't handle taking videos at a higher resolution. You can run the game at 1080p if you want to.

New models are doable, it's just a matter of time before they're all done. Same with new textures.

Changing the layout of the menus isn't without someone who seriously knows how to edit ff7.exe's architecture.

EDIT: That nanaki model looks like ass.

My bad, Tekkie.X.  I didn't pay attention to who the "author" of the video was.  Yeah, that guy is taking credit for everything, but didn't do any of those modifications.
 
Ah, if you meant someone else than that's cool, spending a fair amount of time on CDG and FPSbanana where credit theft is sometimes treated like murder does this to a man.
 
Btw, i've finished downloading the pack.
To install i just do it over the vanilla game or do i have to install the 1.0.2 patch first?

Cuz i'm getting black screen upon starting the game..

wow, i haven't been able to connect to the website for some time and Aali and you had made so much improvements over the time!!! nice, keep it up!!!

i "clean" installed your new remix patch, great performance and stability, i just have 1 problem, the battle swirl limiter i have it "on" but damn, it doesn't work, when i get attacked, it almost instantly takes me in the battle with only the battleswirl sound.... kinda annoying...

anyway awesome work, are you planing entering new models/textures? like a new tifa or summons?

Now the game just starts responding and closes.
After a lot of install/unistall i was able to see the first video once but then in the first menu i couldn't see the sword.

Seems i finally got it to work.
At least i've seen the first video, saw the sword in the "new game" and am watching the second video, let's see!

All of those models are from Crisis Core as far as i can tell, which would indeed make them copyrighted material.

I'm using Windows 7 and deactivatet UAC and it worked for a couple of days . I hope that someone might help me :)
 
This is getting annoying..
I'm almost 1h in Train Graveyard and i still couldn't get a single Graviball. Since i can only get it in 2 places i'm trying to get two of those (and use W-Item later) but it doesn't drop.

I don't even steal the Ether from the Deenglow so it's possible to drop, but it doesn't.
Was it removed?

do you have the german version of the game? I'm afraid getting this patch to work on international versions of the game is a tad difficult right now, the next version I'm working on should be international.
 
No its the english version but my OS is German. I'll try your language compability patch and a reinstallation didnt work it always crahes on startup :(

Great compilation, but I'm having problems with the first minigame on the highway, after Shinra HQ. The FPS in normal game is limited to 60fps (vsync works), but when the minigame kicks in, the fps goes over 200 and its impossible to complete it normally.

That's weird, the framelimiter is on.. you can try using the old framelimiter: goto the patches folder, move the 9999limitbreak stuff into "Do Not Want", then go into "Do Not Want", and move the "HighwayAndSnowboardMinigamesFix" files out to the "patches" folder. Then run "InstallYAMPNormalMode" and "InstallYAMPHardcoreMode" once each and hopefully the problem will be solved...
 
It's working again! Seemed that the ff7opengl registry enty was corrupt I deleted it and use one of a fresh installation and it works now. But all my savegames became invalid so I have to start from scratch again ./
 
Excellent work ,maybe a stupid question but i am a noob iv download this patcher and its all working fine i noticed 9999 break limit file in patches folder how do i actually use them ?(where do i put them )

It's already installed into hardcore mode. If you want to install it into normal mode as well, run "InstallYAMPNormalMode.bat" and everything should be fine.

It sounds like (A) you're not using the shortcuts and (B) you either ran FF7config.exe which uninstalled the FF7OpenGL registry entries or User Account Control blocked the registry entries from going through.

Turning off UAC and reinstalling the patch would probably fix every issue, but you can also fix it yourself by running ff7OpenGL.reg in your FF7 Folder, then using the start menu shortcuts (which would necessitate enabling the classic start menu, you can copy them to your desktop after you've found them) to run the game.

Thanks for the reply but its fix'd its self   :? I had UAC off and i was using the shortcuts, ah well thanks anyway and great mod  ;D
