while you're playing, alt+tab out of the game and see if FF7Music is running. If it is, copy paste whatever is in the debug console and show me.
 
I was playing the game and it was running fine but at the part after killing the "techno-soldier" and cloud falls off the catwalk, the screen fades to black and nothing happens. whats wrong and how can i fix it? also every now and then i crash, here is the app.log

Excellent work ,maybe a stupid question but i am a noob iv download this patcher and its all working fine i noticed 9999 break limit file in patches folder how do i actually use them ?(where do i put them )
It's already installed into hardcore mode. If you want to install it into normal mode as well, run "InstallYAMPNormalMode.bat" and everything should be fine.

yo, just womdering.  How are you making your installers?  I mean as in uncompressing files and then recompressing.  I am all for entering my mod to your installer but wouldn't hurt to have a separate one too if I can make it?
 
Well starting from the next version, I'll be using the Nullsoft NSIS scripting language. It basically works like a giant batch file, only with the ability to store variables and native support for file compression/decompression. If you google it, you'll find it.
 
So time for a checkpoint ( since i'm kinda running as a beta tester here  :-D )

First i want to ask if the AI of bosses was tweaked to harder or not. I mean, i pretty much didn't grind until Junon and every boss was *damn* easy. For example, that last boss from midgar (something motor) i reach him with 2 dead chars (due to my problem with the uber speed minigame) and no limit break and still i didnt have any problem killing him during that fight. I have also noticed that most of them don't use their strongest attack that often. I'm saying this because in everyboss i seek a challenge and i get kinda disapointed when i finish a boss battle with full hp and no party member dead.

Now in Junon i've leveled to lvl 45~50 and i'm afraid i won't get problems until Ruby weapon.

Also wanted to point that some models on Clouds weapons are a bit weird, specially the one with chinese letters that seems a bit short and the first one with double AP that the texture seems like a rock and not metal.

I've beaten the game at level 39 before, you do some hardcore leveling. The AI has been "remastered"--meaning that it's still the same AI with the same attacks, they're just smarter than before, and their attacks make more sense and complement each other more. The only significant difficulty increases that resulted from this I'd say were all of the turk encounters (especially the latter ones), Ultima Weapon, and Sepher Sephiroth. (Oh, and cactuer  ;))

Otherwise it's little things that got changed that you'd *really* have to be paying attention to notice, like as someone pointed out earlier in the thread, Aps' tsunami attacks used to hurt him as well as the enemy...now it heals him while damaging the party. I also fixed certain "bugs" in the game...like the Adamantaimai Big Guard glitch, and the Zolokalters' AI (they attack their allies as well as the party, due to a scripting error).

The link doesn't support download manager and my internet connection isn't stable (it has a good speed but get disconnected its easy) because of that i can't download the patcher. if it was on Megaupload, easyshare, mediafire or even ifile i could use Jdownloader to resume the download.

Humm, let me do some math then.  ;D
I started leveling there with 15k gil, atm i have 300k, means ~285k since i started leveling. Assuming i get 4k per battle i did 70~75 battles in total. Wasn't that hard, actually. For the first ~10 battles i've used 2 Beta per battle. For the next ones it was just running around with enemy lure and keep circle pressed while reading forums. I guess i leveled every 4 battles or so. Got limit 3.2 on Cloud and Barret and like 6~7 materias mastered  :oops:

I guess i have to do a run someday like this guy:

Maybe then i'll get a challenge  :P

P.S.: Have to say that i miss the original "Still More Fighting" song :b

Hey everyone,

First off, I've embarked on many mods/projects in my day and I must say titeguy3 is doing a great job on getting back to everyone on their problems, I'm highly impressed mainly because that usually isn't the case on most projects like this one.  Now on to mine.  I'm running FF7 in Windows 7 (x64) at 1920x1200 and using smartbloom.post however I feel as though the 2D backgrounds that the models run on are highly pixelated, much more than what i've seen in some of the youtube videos.  I reinstalled Team Avalanche's 0.9 release with no results.  Could it be because of my high resolution monitor, am I just crazy and that is how the game is supposed to look??  Below I've provided you with 2 screenshots of what I'm talking about.  Thanks in advance.

Excellent, happy to know I'm not crazy.  One more quick one, if I want to go back to the original translations for nostalgia purposes do I just overwrite files form my original discs?  If so which ones?

I made a clean install, aplied the patch, the 2.5 and the 2.5.1 updates, configed and when I tried to play, lame grafics with lots of bugs, no fmvs.
I reaplyed ff7movkeyC64.reg to be sure, and now I get an imediate CTD on start.

The only thing I changed was the vista->7 and moving from the standard dir to a custom one (I changed and corrected all the bat's though).
FF7OpenGL.reg does not fix this now.
Any thoughts?

if you have a custom directory you're going to have to edit the registry manually. I'll fix this in the next version of the installer.

if you have a custom directory you're going to have to edit the registry manually. I'll fix this in the next version of the installer.
Feel free to grab the code out of the nsis script i made that detects 64bit/32bit and grabs the install directory from the registry.
