I can get the game to play by click on the ff7.exe file in the folder, but it doesn't have the music, just the Soundeffects :/

be careful to read the first few lines of the main post. It looks like Aali's driver isn't installed properly. Make sure User Account Control is turned off, then run that .reg file again.

Someone can help me, I have a problem to change my field text and menu art in Menu.lgp
I try to change it with lgptools but the file is .tex and in the texture folder files are .png.. :?
What i have to do?

It didn't make the FF7 Shortcuts because it couldn't find your start menu, I think.
 
is there a way to remove custom barret and cloud battle models and replace them with the original models? i want to do this because they don't suit there with low quality battle models
 
The German Language Patch doesn't work. It doesn't detect the install cd but i mounted it!!
Actually it broke my game. When i try to start it now screen goes black for a second and then closes to desktop.

Is there a way to remove Grimmy's Diamond Weapon retextured ?

The reason is, as soon as I get out of the Forgotten City, in the 2nd disc, the whole game runs awfuly slow... I mean, 1 frame every 5 seconds or so. Totally unplayable. And the FF7.exe processus takes a lot more memory at that time (about 350 MB). I wonder what the real cause is (my hardware is more than enough capable to run the game with pelnty of mods), but since it looks like no one knows what it is, I'd like to remove it right now (a guy had the same problem as me, in Grimmy's thread, but the solutions brought up didn't solve anything).

I'd ask in Grimmy's thread, but since no one posted in it since January, I don't want to revive it (rules and stuff). Thanks in advance.

OK, I temporarily replaced the file world_us.lgp (in Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\wm) with the one existing in the discs, and now it works fine. So yeah, I figured it out myself - a good thing since someone who obviously knew the answer likes to be a complete douche.

At least I gave the solution for people who might have the same problem. Just replace the old file with the remix file, once you're done with Diamond Weapon.

Other than that, this patch is awesome.

If you still want to use the model but improve your game speed, you might want to use Borde's Image2Tex program... open up all the texture files Diamond Weapon uses... and reduce all of them by 50% or more.   You'll lose quality obviously, but since it's a world map model, the difference probably won't be noticeable.

I don't understand how he's being a douche when the solution you used was painfully obvious.

It's not obvious for everyone. And you know what ? When I read questions I find "incredibly stupid" because I'm so clever, I don't reply at all. With all due respect to Titeguy, a response such as his is trolling. And a troll sure ain't a bright person, no matter his/her programming skills or contributions to the community.

It's painfully obvious to anyone who has even a basic understanding of the concept of files, I would think. And you may stay quiet when someone says something extremely stupid, and maybe you stay quiet when someone says something offensive, or ignorant, or something you don't agree with, and maybe you don't talk about a movie you hated - I can't know and don't much care, but some people with a sense of humour enjoy interactions outside of 'question -> answer' and "i think X" -> "oh i think x too!".
I know that's a bit much to say to a fairly innocuous statement, but it's a sort of statement that I generally see coming from an attitude that I find frankly anti-social. It's not trolling to say anything even the slightest bit "inflamatory".

Also, question, although it is fairly easy to change most things that I might want to, would it be all that difficult to make a modular version of the installer? Or is it already modular? (I haven't downloaded it yet but it doesn't sound as though it is..)


Edit: Whoa, apparently I can be more of an asshole than I thought if I am woken up by a friend after 4 hours of sleep. At most I had cause to mildly suspect that sort of attitude. Still, even in the (admittedly likely) even that the post generally doesn't apply, it should illustrate why I don't think that was trolling, I guess.

I've already made it modular. I just haven't released it yet due to three problems that I can't be bothered to take care of right now, as I've got other things going on.

1) Installing everything piece by piece (decompiling and recompiling the .lgp files) takes *forever*. The install would literally take a half hour
2) I had to convert to a new installer platform, which introduces a lot of errors, so that means very thorough testing is necessary. This combined with point (1) = annoying.
3) All of the latest mods don't play nice very well... I'm trying to force them to, but to do so properly would require more tedious work than (1) and (2) combined...
 
Hello I am new here and I really enjoyed the video of her as was the FF7, and my net is the only 256kbps and it can not I download it all at once and wanted to see if you guys could upload in parts of 1GB and one 780MB.
 
titeguy3 any idea when will we have a new version with new stuff (like Millenia Sword pack, f.e.)?
