@cyberpirate - it looks like your problem is due to missing save files, either copy your saves to fill up all slots (to copy the saves take a file like save00.ff7 and make copies of it and rename the copies to save01.ff7 save02.ff7 etc all the way to save09.ff7) or you could download a save and make copies of them to fill up slots,
this error only happens on the latest version of Aali's custom driver (0.7.7), if you use the version that comes with this remix patch (0.7.3) you shouldn't have this problem

Aww no problem, lets hope someone else does  :-[
I just had a quick look at your crash.dmp (i am not very good at it so you may want to try posting it in Aali's custom driver thread and see if Aali can help)
the crash does seem to be driver related by the looks of things

but i tried to recreate the error by loading your data from ff7 but i couldn't recreate the error when going into battle, (also there does seem to be a DLL error from your nvidia drivers so you may want to reinstall them, but i dont think this has anything to do with the crash or it could just be me reading it wrong, like i said before i am not experianced at crash dumps)
i would recommend removing ff7 completely and deleting the folder (backup your save folder though) do a fresh install and then reinstall just the remix patch (nothing else) and try again and see what happens.

I have a small problem it seems that the ff7_opengl.cfg doesn’t want to work the screen size is wrong it shows about the top left part only during the intro that plays automatically. So i try to change it and it didn’t do anything so I try to turn full screen off and it still was in full screen I try to reinstall everything inc a fresh game yet its the same the file doesn’t want to do anything.

I do not use the Remix Patch but you need to register Aali's driver to the registry first. Have you done that?? If you haven't there is also a file called ff7_opengl.reg. And remember if you run the FF7Config you'll have to register Aali's driver again.
Note:I think if you use the Remix patch you have to run Aali's driver version 0.7.3 so be sure you're running that version.

The patch has it in but I installed it anyway and it didn't work the ff7_opengl.reg file still does not do anything even when i changed it to not have full screen it sticks to full screen.

i was just wondering if maybe you could make a checklist of which patches to install on the remix patch. cause some people don't want/aren't compatible with all the patches. i hope it doesn't take too much time though =/

Hey not a bad idea. Like the one TA made for their patch. Well titeguy maybe only doing this if there are a new tons of mods to make and he'll make a new remix patch.

Just curious, on the customization wiki it says your patch "Fixes bugs, smartens AI, adds re-translations, slightly increases difficulty, and modifies Spells/Items/Weapons/Armor/Materia while keeping true to the original game concept." I'm currently at the Shinra HQ, and don't really notice too much difference. Though I'm not using your patch exactly. I patched my FF7 however, my laptop has compatibility issues with Aali's OpenGL driver, so basically I just copied all the files in the battle, patches, plugins, shaders, textures, movies, and ficedula folders onto a clean installation, while replacing FF7.exe with your FF7.exe. And replacing FF7Config with FF7config 1.02. (So theoretically I should notice a difference right? since I am using your battle.lgp/scene.bin etc) Just wondering, because I haven't really noticed a difficulty increase in my game =O

I'm just wondering what you changed in the actual gameplay aspect of it? as well as which items you added.

Just wondering how much you edited, because now that I think of it Reno shouldn't have allowed me to steal a Shinra Beta. I looked it up, says Reno has nothing to steal.

I think most of the mods that he included in the patch needs Aali's driver to run properly and for it to show properly too. You're not using the OpenGl Driver??

you really have to do a full install of his patch, just extracting the folders won't give you the full benifits of his patch, and to run the game you have to run from the .BAT files, so if you want to play the game on hard you have to run from the hardcore BAT file and NOT the ff7.exe.

Hmm.. Then if I'm going to reformat my computer its going to be hard to use these patch and keep modding the game up since it needs to be run in a different way.

well all his bat's really do is rename the files then run the ff7.exe to match (and also ff7music etc), like it has 2 battle.lgp's, 1 for hardcore and 1 for normal, when you run the hardcore bat, it renames the battle.lgp to something like n_battle.lgp and then renames the h_battle.lgp to battle.lgp, if you look at his BAT files you will see what i mean,
you can do it just by extracting the files and running the EXE but you have to remember to rename all the files that are needed but it is just much easier to install 2.5.1 normally and use it the normal way.

when i use his patch OpenGl crashes for me during one of the FMV's at the very start.

though I do have a good amount of mods working I believe.
high res cloud. high res barret. i think i have his modified normal game one (since I stole Shinra Beta from Reno), NPC reconstruction project, and probably several others, but I'm only in Shinra HQ on this replay. I haven't tried Hardcore yet b/c when I did play it, I got bored from grinding =/ I was kinda looking for a mod where I wouldn't have to grind but monsters can actually hit decent damage.

titeguy should we expect a new release with a couple of more additions to enlarge our gaming experience?
Things such Millenia new swords, etc.

 8-)

can you guys confirm something for me real quick? shouldn't take you more than a second.

is the reason my movie folder looking like this because my computer cannot support most of the movies? Only some actually have the thumbnail, most others just have the standard thumbnail for .avi's. Also when I click the ones without a thumbnail (all of them except canon and canonh3f) windows media player just closes on me for no reason (I get an error then it closes).
newbitmapimageoa.png

I tried a clean installation with Titeguy3's patcher.
Some of the errors I've encountered:
http://img85.imageshack.us/i/newbitmapimagexh.png/ (apparently the image is not loading and it's replacing with words exter)
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/7352/newbitmapimagegh.png (what it looks like when I load my old game)
I cannot run in resolution higher than 320 x 240 otherwise it crashes
If I start a New Game it crashes automatically because I have issues with the FMV. (It is one of the FMV's without a thumbnail)
When I do run in 320 x 240 I find that the starting FMV only shows a quarter of what it should (the top left quarter) effectively creating an FMV four times my laptop screen. (I'm using Aali's Driver --> Screen Res set to 1366 x 768 fullscreen = yes)
Noticed I'm fighting Boss's I shouldn't be. Fought the Hundred Gunner instead of Hojo's samples, fought the steam roller dude on the rooftop instead of rufus, and instead of the steam roller I fought two normal enemies from the cavern near midgar zolom.

(Don't know if I need both but it doesn't hurt I guess)
If you guys do bother to look at my post it would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for helping me :]

Looks like you need to activate Aali's driver.    Your .avi "problem" is because those movies have been encoded using a normal everyday codec instead of Truemotion

thank you very much. my ff7 is working perfectly now, the help was greatly appreciated :].

you guys are fantastic :]

I think in Aali's driver you could turn on using the cache to load the game faster or turning of postprocessing and not use bloom2.post but I don't recommend it since it makes the game look really much better.

sorry if i am asking an annoying question but i found the solution in the bug report but i cant do what the report says.

my issue is my New Game/Continue screen is all screwy *no sword and the word EXTER at the bottom* and so is my ingame txt.
the bug report says FIX: Turn on fancy_transparency in the OpenGL Config file
i go to my OpenGLconfig.bat and i get this
a pop up dos, instantly goes away and is replaced by untitled.txt window with nothing in it and a pop up saying The system could not find the path specified.

Any help would be great, so far i love hardcore and the music is nice, its just this issue is whats holding me back from enjoying the game more...
