Flickering Screen

I'm at cosmo canyon and the screen just keeps flickering, how can I solve this.

just before I entered cosmo canyon, I'm now at that bit after you see nanaki's father and it's still doing it.

Does it happen in other video modes? Does it happen in any other game which runs fullscreen?

no just this game, also it does it from the very start where it says eidos and square, so it's not just in the game itself. What do you mean by different video modes.

Software rendering instead of Direct3D.

I can't because the 8-bit pallet textures have fail next to it.

Have you tried 1.02 with nVidia fix?

no but I have a ATI card does that make a difference

So do I, and the fix works for me.

hooray it works thanks, but now it just keeps randomly crashing, and when I change video modes back so it flickers it never crashes.

Win98 compatibility mode + battleswirl fix (somewhere on this board) should reduce the crashing.
