There is a patch to run it on Nvidia cards, you should get that since most don't support 8bit palletted textures even though its now enabled in the drivers.
I think the problem with the bike chase is that your pc is too fast for the game. When I had a k6-3 400 with voodoo 2's it ran and the proper speed but now it is way to fast.

Oh my god, what have I done?
This is turnin' into a 3-pages-topic ...

I don't have an NVIDIA card though.... can I still use the patch then? And will that get rid of the awfull Bright Green blobs everywhere?

im running on a celeron 400, and its normal. you need a turbo button

well you shouldn't if it isnt an NVIDIA card. as for the bike chase there was a program that slowed your processor down so the games slowed down to the right speed but I cannot remember what it was called.

You most definitely can apply the "NVidia" patches whatever card you have.

It should really be called a "remove paletted textures" patch because that's what it does - removes the need for paletted textures. The patch lets me use my Radeon with FF7 fine (since it doesn't support paletted textures either).

If you have the 1.02 patch to FF7 it also lets you apply my patches like 32-bit colour etc, though that's not as big an issue  The 1.01 and 1.02 updates do run fine on ANY card though, not just NVidia cards.

thanks fice, ive been wondering about that for quite some time.

Do you have a link fice? There are so many wierd and wonderfull patches out there for FF7 im not sure which one you are talking about!

Afraid not ... they're hard to find now, IIRC Eidos doesn't have them on it's FTP anymore.

v1.01 is the Riva TNT patch.
v1.02 is the patch that support both the TNT and another NVidia card (can't remember which ... GF1? not sure)

Hah! I have both the Riva128 and the TNT version of the patch! But I've noticed that there isn't really a difference using an NVida card. I suppose I could email them to Fice so he could put them on his sever...

Oh, and I get funny purple and green lines in FF7 when I use them, but if you turn off Antialiasing, they go away.

hehe i cant even figure out how to turn ON anti aliasing on my voodoo3

God !  That sucks, I wouldnt be able to play at all like that.

I'm running WinXP Pro Corperate. It is the same as EVERY other version of XP Pro out there except you use a "Volume Licence Key". Therefore it does not need to be activated. (Can you imaging having to activate every machine in a 2000 machine company???). My machine is 4 years old and I have not had any problems with hardware (of course I have upgraded here and there).

It is by far the best Windows I have ever used and it is the MOST stable WINDOWS out there................... however that said if you want a really stable system try running Linux (kernal 2.4.x) and then run all your Windows program in WINE or VMWARE.

Linux rocks

jedimark...... must have something to do with the foreground...

Darkness: to your post on previous page, about dual booting: you can make dual boot to any system, when you have some boot manager, like OSL2000. It will give you choice what partition do you want to boot.

Boot disks?

Well I guess you could find a boot disk that would let you choose which partition to boot off of... but that's just more trouble.
