At the cost of sounding really stupid (yeah sounding) what exactly is a ping? And what will the ping of death do? :oops: Yeah, I'm really dumb...

Ping is the time delay between a packet been sent & recieved. The ping cmd on the otherhand is used to test if another computer is on the network. You can try it out by going to dos and typing ping.

Ping of death would be a really slow internet connection, kinda like a modem.

I wouldn't beat yourself up over this.  Like you said in one of your threads, people are nice around here.  It gets annoying on any forum if people ask the same questions when the answers are in the FAQ section, or a simple search away.  Your question was an innocent one.
