Hiding online status

So... for a while there I decided to hide my online status, and there are maybe 5 or 6 other pretty regular members who also do this.  I'm just kind of curious what the reason is behind doing it?   Personally, I just thought it was a fun feature and forgot about it for a while.

I wasn't aware Qhimm offered IM

I think the point is, maybe a member just wants to check his PM box or he/she would like to avoid a certain member.

I don't want to cause any panic or paranoia if someone sees me looking at their profile. Plus ninja moderating is so much funner.

Well that's the point, you can't hide from im ing because Qhimm doesn't do it. Ha still, ninja modding sounds cool, you probably have a lot less hassle that way.

Nice thing about not being hidden? Folks can see when you're looking at their profiles. Then they ask, "why were you looking at my profile?"

Hilarity ensues.

I prefer unhidden that way when I do check people's profiles they immediately begin worrying if they will be banned for no reason
