I think the problem was that the story was six sentences long. Within those six sentences, there were few commas and no quotation marks. And, besides that, the story had nothing at all to do with the proposed remake. So, I shall offer you one suggestion for the story:

.........................................

They're periods. Use them.

Words of truth, Floyd. I guess in some sense we do need education. Makes you wonder, if anyone is out there to teach our young ones about the fundamentals of the punctuational arts.

Sorry, I don't know many Pink Floyd songs..

If you can't make a sentence, you can't function in life. How can you possibly function in life if you can't make a sentence?!

Sorry, I'm done.

All in all it's just another post to my count

Done.

Heh... At least you know some Floyd...

At any rate, I'm sure I could write up a storm, but I'll be going off to college soon. That should give me plenty of free time, but I doubt I would be able to commit that free time to any single project, especially one that doesn't look like it will reach completion anytime soon. I worked on an FFVII mod briefly over at wc3campaigns.com that tanked fairly quickly. Hmm... I should stop; I'm probably discouraging people.

'Sides, right now, I have that nice little topic on my 3DS Max woes,  and I'll probably end up re-texturing Cloud and his weapons at least for Morrowind... But, if anyone wants me to write some short scenes and requests an example of my non-FFVII-related essays, I'd be happy to provide them.

Rubicant you have no tact.. and i love that about you.. you give an honest opinion even if it is brutally honest.. i think thats a really good quality to have.. I wish more people would just be honest with others in this world.. there would be so much less confusion running rampant throughout the scenery..

Pink Floyd is awesome.. Listen to Dark Side of the Moon its some hardcore chillin music, and its great..

I rarely use puncuation, although i am usually for the most part decent with grammar.. I can write decently if i wish..

I've got ff7PC, and I play it quite a bit... I wouldn't mind helping out if I could.

guys seriously this is what it involves:

  • Spending countless hours writing your own sections of the story
Going into minute details about the sound, music, effects positioning of items etc
Online collabaration with fellow FFR team members by msn, irc, and PMs
Be able to pick yourself up and push yourself to do things that should have been done by something else
Motivate those active team members and have daily/weekly meetings
Work without needing instructions, all you will get is a brief on the story line for your segment.
Hope thats some of the stuff you will be getting into.[/i][/list]

Telling someone to write anything and give it to you is a difficult assignment.. Give everyone something to write.. Give everyone a brief story line to write on, and see how that goes. let them work their own imaginations.. just give something to everyone so comparing will be hella easier..

Heh. Even a year on my offer is still open if you want any help with anything FFVII content related... writing to.... I guess. Its not even like it'd be to much writing. More quality than quantity by far...
I'm even planing one of these days STILL to start my "FFVII project GAMMA: Play though game and write down everything that dosent make sense, then post it on Qhimms" in an effort to expand my FFVII knolledge. I started the Usa Psx version a while ago, but it sucks. Worth graphics and the script is awfull compared to the revised Pc version. Oh well, comming soon a forum near you: All my current problems with FFVII PC the next time I try to install it...

Edit: Actually it almost IS one year on since I posted the post I made on page 1... how time flys.

Thats the outline you will get, we obviously need to collect the story line info into one document for ppl to evaulate

I'll do the best story ever. Its a fact.

If you want to argue against my fact:

*Morpheous Voice*: "What is fact?"

I gave TheSaint a sample of my work...and I don't think he's managed to buy the time to get around to reading it. Hell, it is a 12 page story about martha stewart being a hitler reincarnate trying to take over the world....probably not exactly everyone's cup of tea. Figuratively speaking, that is.

Only problem is that if I ended up writing for the remake the whole thing would end up being a comedy act. Unless I shape up

I know we can't take a lot of what Sephiroth said for gospel (the game's Sephy, not our moderator), but I've always been intrigued with his statements about the Cetra being an "itinerant race," of the species moving from planet to planet. For clarity, a dictionary definition (American Heritage):

i·tin·er·ant  adj. 1. Traveling from place to place, especially to perform work or a duty: an itinerant judge; itinerant labor. --i·tin·er·ant n. One who travels from place to place. [Late Latin itiner³ns, itinerant-, present participle of itiner³rº, to travel, from Latin iter, itiner-, journey. See ei- below.]

If your story will be including the hunt for the last surviving Ancients, presumably including the role of the Turks and Professor Gast (who would have probably been in charge of the project during pretty much the period you described), then this is wide open for you to develop. I don't think even the original writers did more than vaguely speculate on this matter, and if it's up your alley, I'd like to see somebody's thoughts on it. Sadly, my thoughts are quite muddled...
But you know, I do get the impression that the Cetra used materia, even if not much nor often. The Black Materia was actually sealed away by them, but I don't think it was Jenova's... I think it was their own, a last-ditch defense. The Cetra weren't dumb, and in fact defeated Jenova and sealed her away as well, as I recall, so there's a lot of force and power there, as well as symbiosis.

However, I remember hearing Bugenhagen say that the lead characters shouldn't use materia at all, because using them hastened the death of the planet. They'd use it sparingly, I suppose. Goodness knows they had powers of their own, else the materia in the game wouldn't have done anything.

Oh, yes. I'm, uh, not a "story" person, much as I'd like to be. I'm a concept person who waits desperately and forever for stories to come along, and then fails to do anything with them when blessed inspiration finally strikes.

You can't be talking about me, right?

*chuckles* I was saying something vaguely insulting about Sephiroth, so I thought I'd put a disclaimer saying that I meant no offense to you, dude. :)

But yeah, uh... Cetra.

Oh my. I just realized that Bugenhagen would probably have been a technician for Shinra at the time you're writing in. If you need proof, ask around in the airship about the time Bugenhagen is riding with you to the Temple of the Ancients. I think it's the guy working between the Operations room and the chocobo pen. You know, the guy who offers to chew the fat? I'm pretty sure it's him; barring that, it may be somebody in Cosmo Canyon itself who mentions it.

Anyway, point being that Bugenhagen used to work for Shinra, probably back when they were still weapons manufacturers as opposed to a domineering power and fuel concern. Considering the fact that he started Avalanche, according to Barret anyway, this could be vastly more important a plot point than anything about the itinerant nature of the Cetra... That's a side matter, this could be pivotal to the story.

I can never tell whether I simply persue a topic more than anybody else wants to, or if I've genuinely killed it.
